i played against a smart zeus who stood at like 1k range from a team fight every fight and that meant him dishing out huge dmg without dying ever. If there was any indication of threat he just blinked back another 1k range and you just cant chase that far without your team fighting 4v4 while the zeus is still spamming nimbus/ult. I was so impressed by his play that i couldnt even be mad at it. At the pivotal last team fight i caught him off position, his blink was just used so i used my own blink and time walk, ult and offed him. He had already bought back and that secured us the win from almost a certain loss.

Good video, but i would like to see a more objective video when your team isn't leading by that much, and how positioning wins a clutch fight. This was like the best case scenario for your team, while simultaneously being the enemy teams worst possible fight. Their team had very little reliable initiation outside of the axe. I find it increasingly difficult when playing against invis heroes or storm spirit etc where you constantly have to play around sentry wards, or stay behind. Props on this video tho, i dont mean to be negative.
@Jenkins696 жыл бұрын
Agreed, there are harder games, certainly. But that's one thing with Dota, is that games look really awkward and unwinnable for the enemy team. Like, I've been in positions like this on Zeus where Lina is very farmed and killing me constantly, or Axe. The fact that they have quite a few heroes to jump me from a relatively long range makes the game actually quite difficult. The only reason this game was easy is because we took an advantage early. I just wanted to clarify that this game only looks easy because we have the advantage. This draft is probably close to 50/50. The only reason we had an advantage at the point where we were fighting was because we played it well in the early game. With that being said, however, it's still important to know how to play from behind (like against a Riki or Storm that's very farmed and killing you a lot), so I will definitely make content on that. Just wanted to clarify this point because I thought it was interesting. Thanks for the reply and positivity.
@majesticfool6 жыл бұрын
The fundamentals of positioning still applies here though. It's less about certain scenarios, and more about critically thinking about it in each game. Jenkin's can't make a video for every scenario you'll face in dota.
@samuelellringmann34245 жыл бұрын
@@Jenkins69 very cool answer. I think too often we look only at one specific fight and deem it unwinnable. But we dont consider what we did in the 10-15 mins leading up to it that might have made it winnable. Something that BSJ talks about as well. like he'll literally say 10 minutes into the game: 'this death happend because you didn't pull your first creepwave'

Just a tip that even better than playing on the edge of the fight that will make you a monster if u got fast reflexes but it only works if u have vision on the enemy team initiator like axe for instance in that fight lets say he had vision on zues and hes about to jump him with blink zues click on axe the cyclone before axe get in the range of the blink dagger and use it lets say 1500 range away now axe is locked on the cyclone cast as zues start running toward axe to cast the cyclone the moment axe jumps he get lifted because there is 0 cast animation on cyclone compared to axe taunt which requires 0.5 sec to cast and his initiation is wasted for 10 sec resulting in his death ( when you use blink it doesn’t make you disjoint casts that has not been casted yet for instance ss hex if ss used hex from 1400 range away from axe the hero will go towards axe until the spell is used but it must be done before axe use his blink or its too late ) the enemy team could instantly lose the team fight , this shit is very risky but very rewarding it could work with 4 items force staff / cyclone / hex / orchid the least affective is the force staff because its just gonna screw up axe taunt with 600 range away from you also you could do the same trick with your blink but for this to work you need to bait axe at the tip of your blink range so when you hover the mouse over the blink you could notice the range indicator as you know blink is 1200 range so axe got the same reach as you do you could just wait until axe get close to the tip of your blink dagger range and you immediately blink away making the axe blink and taunts empty ground it can work vs enigma which is even more devastating if he wasted his ulti trying to catch you and fails Now if zues applied that in the last fight he could baited axe to jump him and invoker pretending to be at bad position zues sees axe about to initiate and he hover over blink dagger to see the distance between the two of them axe is like 1500 range away from him he cast the cyclone saving invoker and making axe fuck up his initiation and GG

1:19 to 1:35 I don't get why zeus is supposed to deal the magic dmg when Invo is quite good at doing it too. Anyone care to explain ?
@meh43746 жыл бұрын
I'm not going too deep into the numbers and details, and also note that I'm just a 2k scrub trying to help a fellow dota player, so yes, i could be very very wrong. The thing with invoker is yes, his kit combined makes he can spam spells, but since his individual spells itself have a pretty long cooldown, that makes him unable to constantly spam damage skills (meteor and sunstrike) compared to zeus (lightning bolt and lv 25 talent chain lighting + nimbus does consecutive nukes). Other invoker spells are mostly used to distrupt fights (deafening blast, ice wall, emp, cold snap, tornado) or escape (ghostwalk) or manfight (coldsnap, spirits, alacrity), the last one of which forces him to fight the enemy head on, which is bad on that game unless you're completely crushing the enemy. Meanwhile, zeus is able to spam his skills from afar, and avoid getting rightclicked by TB. Therefore, invoker's job this game is mostly to just disrupt fights so the enemy won't be able to get ontop of zeus, while the zeus deal as much damage as he can while getting as far away as possible from the enemies (which invoker can't do because of the aforementioned reasons)

@Jenkins696 жыл бұрын
This is actually a good question, and it's the reason that there's really great analysts/coaches that don't have high MMR. Simple answer: remember in high school when you gave all your buddies relationship advice but you didn't have a girlfriend? Ya. I remember too. XD It's real easy to give advice but quite hard to follow it. More complicated answer: 1) in retrospect, it's easy to verify if something was a good/bad play (take Chess, for example, it's quite easy to verify if a certain set of moves will win the game, because you just do it and see, but it's hard to come up with that set of moves). 2) Dota's an impulsive game, because there's so much to it--you can't just know things you gotta have them be instinct. This takes a lot of practice and knowledge on how to actually practice. 3) Pubs are about being consistent, psychologically, not just knowing things. 4) The list goes on. There's actually quite a few reasons people can be good at giving Dota advice/strategy but not their rank.

AM be garbage yo
@ezekielleveriza40716 жыл бұрын
Romir Moza I agree. In this meta early fighting is much more common so only having 4 heroes is big and the most am can do in 15 minutes with threads and battle fury can’t only spilt push and hope to get a few of the enemy heroes out of the fight. But if you know it’s going to be a long game AM can do so much. In 30 minutes if the am can’t fight because there is a Sven or CK then you just build pushing items like AC and I’ve even seen necrobook on AM because he can’t fight and can only rat and he got tier 3 and barracks in 2 minutes.
@ninjadoublecurry6 жыл бұрын
ezekiel Reiner Leveriza I would argue that even a 15 min bf on AM is wishful..that hero will always get dumpstered in a 2v2 after which he has no game since am can’t farm without a bf (unlike tb Luna pl, the meta carrys)..
