Yep. 1k hours in the game. Told me how to play more strategically. I usually play pubs, but I just might want to play ranked.

Honestly hours don't even matter, I've got like 2k hours and know the basics but I'm not great or take the game that serious. I think it takes the effort of taking apart the game and watching all the tournaments or watching videos of people that do this and give a summary, not many take the game apart and just watch or copy "strats".

Love the comment about being motivated for the hero. Some people are calling for some hero as perfect for the game, but if I have little experience on it and I dont enjoy the playstyle, it will go catastrophic almost always. Only exception is maybe drow, which can can afk farm, but can provide medusa/gyro damage to go 1x5 and win the game anyway.

Picking is really important, i just hit ancient only picking good/counter heroes on offlane. When enemy is meele and no mana burn im going axe, when enemy is ranged i going phenix/wind, when i have cc team i going doom. Now im ancient trash player, and i can play only offlane sometimes pos1, but generally, im screwd on rest lanes.

Hey Jenkins I feel like I understand why certain heroes are picked based on the considerations you talked about, but I have a terrible time thinking on the spot of which heros fill that niche perfectly. I have like 3k hours in the game but I still feel like i have a hard time thinking about the dota 2 hero pool effectively. Do you have any advice on this? Do you suggest opening dotabuff every time I see heroes picked to know which heroes do what / counter others?

It's a cool video, but it won't help low mmr players get better because if you know all this you need other 4 guys to also know that,and if that is the case you are above 4k

@chupeem6940
@chupeem6940 6 жыл бұрын
No. That’s not the case. In Low mmr brackets, if you are truly better than the bracket, you wouldn’t be stuck there, even if you get noob team mates. Team mates are only a factor once you hit 4K and above. Below 4K, if you are good you can literally 1 man the game

@justanaccount6533
@justanaccount6533 6 жыл бұрын
After clearing the creep wave go to jungle right away and kill neutral creeps and go back to lane again if you win the clash you can have more last hits cause you are still alive if you die in clash your cs or gpm will be lower cause you are not hitting creeps cause you are dead

not true. Hero counters are a thing in any bracket.
@TheEternalStallion
@TheEternalStallion 6 жыл бұрын
To the above 2 replies: No, hero counters don't matter much in low MMRs as they do not follow a particular meta and most offlaners depend on teamwork which is poor under 4k MMR. You can pick a tanky hero or initiator like Axe but if your carries don't teamfight, that hero won't be able to carry or let alone have an impact in the game if the enemy is much better at teamplay than yours.
@式守-y4w
@式守-y4w 6 жыл бұрын
Nah on what i have seen in lower mmr pubs, they dont usually think abt counters. Some of them pick carry or midlaner 1st than having pick supp early in the draft.

The considerations are too hard to think about in 10 min picking. Too hard to think of all the possibilities of different heroes and how to counter. You would prob be lucky to get a good game when you counter most of the heroes as a carry. Thinking about the counters will not always work however with counter items.

Yes. If you want to be truly great at a hobby, it's going to take a hell of a lot of work. That's not a mind-blowing conjecture. If you wanna do something casually, that's fine too. But Dota's far from a casual game, and it's a huge time sink. That's precisely why TI's always so hype. Most Dota players understand what it takes to be at that level. ~ Jenkins

best actual advices are: 1) DO NOT CALIBRATE. 2) make experience, with all the stuff you can eventually get from all the videos. 3) DO NOT CALIBRATE. 4) once you are in high or very high skill bracket, consider spamming 1 hero. 5) in the bad case you are not going legend+ bracket, just delete the account and make a new one, and repeat from point 1. Seriously. I was an archon once, i recalibrated, and the disgrace is i ended in the guardian bracket. Once i stopped going mad (i've touched the less mmr that i've ever had, 650), i've started again on focusing, and in 2 weeks i've doubled my mmr. Now well, the magic happens. Go, look at the videos, make all the pro picks, the pro plays, whatever, but somehow, you are in a game where your midder just leaves his lane. Their midder snowballs cuz of free farming, ganks the lanes ---> gets another advantage with kills, exp, and gold ------> you get raped ----> your midder reports you for feeding (while he's 3/4 levels behind your enemy). Well whatever, "you'll eventually win, the next game". Kappa. Go on, pick phase, 2 guys argue about the mid, they roll, the other one goes in the offlane (my other carry pos.1 has already firstpicked) and fucks up my lane. BUT WAIT! suddently, 4 heroes start to farm in jungle, just farming, while they get all the space they want. i could go on for ages. The point is, this game doesn't give a shit about your behaviour score (it may seem cool), its just a cycle: you get the best behaviour you can, you play the best you can, everythying is fine, then suddently the next 100 games are with mentally challenged people, and you just lose, again, everything. So if you are this much down with medal, just give up and move on another account. Unless you are divine/immortal, then you can easily win games alone (i'm honestly not able to win alone game
