Agreed, most players think.... Techies is the bane of both allies and enemies. By making Allies play 4 vs 5 game every push, and enemies by stopping their push progress every inches they move.

In my case i see myselfe report my Mid/Savelane more offten then the Techis in my Ranked game , and im a support , Trust me techis can OBLITERATE in the offlane if they are paired with the right hero !!! But most ppl just pick in the Ultra late Game with a Techis on there team insteed of Picking heros who can Capitalize on the Devastationand Earn off the Tempo

As a techies player I'd say the new techies benefits way more with pushing and teamfights. Stay a bit back, put stasis mines on the sides or where your supports are to prevent jumps and ganks (good counter for pa, sb, spectre, enigma, tide, invis heroes and more), use remote mines on the big treats and get ready to jump on the big initiations (black hole, echo slam, rp, etc) if your'e +50% hp. Also, if you're shamelessly planting mines in the face of your enemies while pushing everyone is gonna be scared to initiate on your team or chase you if you lose the fight. Techies is no longer viable when he's mining the forest and the base without getting any experience.

I will never get over the fact that Remote Mines has a trollface on the spell icon. One big change was also the fact that you could stack Land Mines on top one another before. What you would do was to lay down like 4-5 land mines on top of one another and you had a 100% kill if anyone walked over them in the early game. Which was inevitable if you placed your stack at the right place.

u also forgot to mention back in the day techies land mines could stack on each other. i don't recall what patch it was that changed it to have a range between each individual land mine, but they also increased the damage of each land mine significantly in the same patch

5:00 If detonate has 0 sec cd, you can detonate two times before the remote mines expire, hence dealing double damage per remote mine

HoN had a hero called Engineer, who had spider mines as one of his skills. They could be stacked and would activate if someone came close to them, and run towards a player and explode. They could also be used to block neutral camps, so naturally I would mine the enemy camps at the start of the game and see their jungler leave the jungle and go lane :). When I was playing HoN, he was my go to hero to replace Techies in Dota 1. Also, that courier Nilbog, his name spells out Goblin if read backwards. As for other mobas, Heroes of the Storm has Abathur who can lay down mines (but his shtick is very unique), Tyriel could explode after death and Chromie/Junkrat has stun traps.

Hi Dennis, I've really been enjoying your "history of" videos. I know dota all stars has always been seen by a majority of players as the parent of dota 2 but, what about the original defense of the ancients game (from ROC WC3?) I personally was a huge fan and I think it adds even more fun stuff to talk about potentially in these videos. Such as, juggernaut was originally a strength hero! (Stat stacking early made healing ward absurd haha.)
