To answer your question at 11:53, the reason for the delay midscreen is to ensure that Kid Buu's air lvl 1 hits. If you do it right away it'll miss usually. In the corner and close to the ground there is no need to delay it. So he probably delayed because he may not have been completely sure where the corner was.
