"Phalanx" (pronounced fā-lanks) is a style of military formation commonly associated with the Greeks - usually the Spartans specifically. I guess they gave it to Bardock because the Saiyans have a lot of parallels with the Spartans, and Bardock's moveset names are majority Saiyan themed. Basically a reach and a half, but at least the name is cool.

Another point is that the Romans also used the Phalanx and it was quite proficient in their war efforts and they are closely related to the greeks as well. They likely picked this name since Bardock also has Riot Javelin, a weapon commonly used by the romans although the greeks also used them as well.

Gotta love how Dragon Ball games are still being balanced the same way. "Just give the player a default of 3-4 health bars and give their opponent 6-7 health bars, and maybe throw in some super armor once in awhile."

Fun fact: Bardock in the Budokai games has insanely high damage because of Heat Phalanx. The way damage scaling works for combos is after the 34th hit, all normal attacks in a combo only deal 1 damage and Heat Phalanx (including some others like Goku's Super Dragon Fist) ignore that damage scaling. In addition, it has enough hitstun to combo into itself.

Infinite World was the First DBZ Game I played hard since DBZ Legends on PS1, because the game came out around the time I bought my PS2. Despite the game not being that well balanced (It was basically Budokai 3 with extra stuff attached with super glue and annoying minigames), I have some fond memories about. Also, the opening is a banger!

To be fair, if Bardock could literally repeat a scenario again-and-again like you can, I imagine he too would have stood a better chance. 1:24 - Riot Javelin is such a cool attack name and such a cool looking attack and gosh darn it Frieza; just let it hit you! I suppose it is true to canon though. 2:55 - That trade was crazy cool. The CPU's recovery from that and swift follow-up is also insane. 4:42 - I never got to see the perfect version of it and still Sayain Spirit was such a cool move. It helps that the Great Ape imagery invokes the look of Goku's Dragon Fist. 10:24 - Goku had an unfortunate case of heart disease mid-combo I see. Do you reckon it's hereditary? Does he blame his father's side of the family or his mothers? I suspect that lower-class Saiyans don't keep much of a record of such things. 15:40 - I guess I get to see this Ultimate fully after all. It was as awesome as I had hoped. You proved Bardock was pretty amazing by beating Frieza fairly swiftly and then that same skilled character is used against you now... ironic. 17:14 - Again, love the fun edits added into these fights. These videos are always a joy to see pop up!
