Dotted Cherry Blossoms Tutorial on Natural Stone

Here's another tutorial for you, this time dotted cherry blossoms on a natural stone. I grew up in the Washington, DC area and always loved seeing these beautiful trees during the springtime National Cherry Blossom Festival. They are so delicate and colorful, and so easy to paint!

Supplies needed for this project:
• Black card stock, or something to practice on
• Natural stone, prepped with black paint (it really helps the flowers to stand out)
• DIY Mandala Stones dotting tools (1-16 set), or equivalent
• DecoArt Americana acrylic paints in the colors of your choice. I used: Splendid Gold, Ocean Blue, Razzle Berry (for large petals), Royal Fuchsia (for small petals), Titanium White
• Paint palette or paint cups
• Lazy Susan with non-slip grip pad
If you want to use this stone outdoors, you can seal it with resin or with an indoor/outdoor acrylic sealant spray.

Hi, the wooden squares with the numbers that I show in the video tell you what size tool I'm using for the practice sheet. For the actual stone, the tool numbers are shown in the upper left side of the video screen.

What kind of Resin do you recommend?

I use ArtResin, but any kind of non-yellowing resin will work fine.
