There is a very great difference between a healthy nine (i.e. a 9 who is in touch with their anger and their feelings, and who has learned to deal with conflict) and an uhealthy nine. Less aware nines have a deep resistance to their own desires, but when nines grow they get more in touch with their own desires and learn to allow them in their life.

I find this series of videos about enneagram extremely instructive. I learned on my skin that finding one's core fear is not an easy thing to do, it requires courage and potentially someone to guide the journey. These videos were really helpful. Thanks.

Brilliant video. I can identify with everything the participants shared. I start to enjoy the feeling of my anger and I am now able to put it to good use. If I get angry enough I am able to move mountains. I have to come to realise that I love people and I am able to sense what their "issues" are and how I can help them. It's actually wonderful being a 9 so long as I work to transcend its fixation of Laziness by practicing Right Action.

I relate to the anger they are talking about around 29min mark. Literally the only time I've blown my stack, was when I've been shocked into the emotion anger. Something happened that was so beyond the pale for me that I didn't have a single hit second to diminish or deny it's presence or my own devastation. It needed to happen. But god, it was awful.

The problem I have experienced with the 9 as a peacemaker, is that they transfer their habituated self denial tendency into their attempts to create peace. Very problematic when real difference exists between people.

9's unwillingness to deal with anything "negative" causes a premature spiritual exultation, that excuses them from any responsibility. This creates a huge burden on those who must deal with the 9 on any practical matter. This causes resentment and eventual abandonment of the 9. Their rose colored view of the world blinds them from the anger they refuse to deal with but project onto the world. 9s are very "nice" people and good company as long as it remains on a shallow & emotional safe distance
@jenniferlaprees19856 жыл бұрын
twhitten828 that has been very true in my own experience as a nine. "premature exultation" trying to skip the painful parts of life. As I've learned more about the very real vice that I hid under an easy-peasy exterior it has been equal parts relief and heaviness. I don't care about people nearly as much as I though I did. I just pacify them so they don't bug me. It's cynicism that is the root of much of my behavior, not a desire for peace. I don't think people are worth getting into a lather about. The liberating part is, that at least I know what is real. A lever and a place to stand no matter how small.

I resonate with this. I had a period of "I'm not the doer" which felt great, but I never really built a healthy doer to begin with and it became recklessness.

@@jenniferlaprees1985 pacifying people! Yes! I'm now starting to feel uncomfortable staying on the shallow/superficial level with people, a fear of "if I'm real with the person, I might be rejected"

Dottie seems like she could actually be a 2 to me. At the very least I get a different vibe from her. Maybe she has an 8 wing but honestly she just seems too on point, energetic and focused for a 9.

audacity it probably has to do more with extravertedness. I am an ENFP 9w8 and I can reflect a lot of myself on her. I also want to add that you can't blame people for giving the w8 a title of being more energetic than the w1. When the w8 embrace tap into this anger his whole demeanor can be felt in the entire room for example.
