I think my favorite thing about the term "Alpha" is that even the guy who coined the term has admitted that his study was total horse shit and nobody should use the term Alpha because it only actually was relevant to wolves in artificial prison-like conditions and doesn't describe free animals at all.

There has been some research that found a parasite that increased risk taking made wolves more likely to leave their pack, which vastly increased their chance of becoming a pack leader... but also vastly increased their chance of mortality. Basically the parasite needs a cat to breed in, so it evolved to make wolves break off from their pack so they can be prey to one. So a lot of natural "Alphas" are sick loners that are actually prey animals for cats... cougar chow.

And having that as the conclusion annoys me. Seriously, why do people accept the premise that "humans are free"? Most humans imprison themselves in their own mental box. Doing stuff like being forever "stuck" doing jobs they hate or dislike because they believe no alternative. Just because humans are technically "free" is not equal to saying many humans are not also "imprisoned". In conclusion. Yes, the study was wrong, as it only applies to animals in confinement. NO, that does NOT mean it does not work with humans, just because most peoples confinement is of their own mental making. Trying to argue that it isn't the case for humans "in the abstract" is pointless to me, since in practice it very much applies to half of humanity.

But 'alpha' = meaningless, therefore alpha = null. Any two nulls are considered equal, so double null also equals null. Therefore it doesn't matter how many alphas they add, the result is always meaningless, null, and therefore the same.
