Thank you, thank you. I have watched at least 5 videos for a FDC and yours is the only one that made any sense at all. And thank you for not laboring over how to make a slip knot. If we don't know how to do that we have no business trying to crochet.

Thank you for posting this tutorial on KZbin as I found it very helpful and enlightening. I am completely new to crochet and I find that this might be a better method than continuously making a chain. I understand that there may be some instances where a chain might be necessary but I hope that most of the time I will be able to use this method instead.

This is really helpful and clear! I also really appreciate the fact that you didn't over-explain everything. It's frustrating as a beginner to intermediate crocheter that so many videos which are designed to teach a specific technique also include "this is how you do a slip knot, this is how you chain stitch".

Thank you SO much! I have literally watched DOZENS of videos on this, practised no end, and can still not do it. I was about to give up and start a stunning blanket with just a chain but thought I’d do yet another search. Thank goodness I did: it landed me on your tutorial. I haven’t even tried it yet, but you are the first person who simply says: “go into the last stitch”. (Most) Others point at where to insert the hook, hold their finger on the stick, talk about “this little V here” etc, but hearing “last stitch” ..... 💡🥂🍾. Can’t wait to try out, but better go and get dressed first 🙄🤭🤫 Best wishes from 🇬🇧😘

Wow, what a great video. Did my first chainless foundation of 172 double crochet in double time. Tension was slightly tighter (by about 2 stitches) than the other panels already completed for afghan but that was remedied by pulling out about 30 stitches and re-doing them, paying attention to loosening the tension. I will never again opt for the chain foundation. Thank you!!

Try watching a tutorial that's not using a bright or really dark yarn. I find sometimes it's hard to see the stitches clearly when the yarn is too deep or bright or when it's unraveling easily..
