I'm curious. What isyour average on string pins? If you can't shoot 300 on strings, whats the difference if the numbers are the same, also what verson of pin setter is older? Seems like strings would have come before the mechanical solution. I'm not defending strings but I think more information is needed. If they drastically improve averages, then you have a case for not letting them be legal in tournament play. If not, then they will likely become standard.

Great to see you guys having fun and showing just how versatile bowling is. It can be taken seriously in tournaments, there are numerous levels of league play from really competitive sport shot leagues to very casual beer leagues, and of course you can just have fun with friends or family. Bowling has been around for 100 years and will not be going away any time in the near future.
