Double din car stereo HDMI - AV converter for film playback - DVD player & Fire Stick trial

In this video I use a HDMI2AV converter unit on my Kenwood DMX125DAB car stereo. This unit converts the digital HDMI input to an analogue AV output that can be displayed on most head units that have RCA (phono) input connections. I will also show you how to bypass the parking switch to allow video playback while the vehicle is in motion. While it is pretty awesome to have a film playing on the head unit, it's not a good idea to watch films while driving. Please stay safe and do this at your own risk.

Did you just straight up ground the parking break? I have the DIY bypass but it’s still stopping the video playback while driving. Trying to do the so the kids have something on road trips.

Hi, anything is possible but doesn’t sound like a straight forward job. I would suggest getting a different head unit that already has video compatibility.

Depends on your head unit. On this one the AV is accessed via the home screen so you can choose which screen you want to look at 👍🏼

So I got this one: HDMI Cable for iPhone, HDMI... www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B099F1L9KT?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share It does work but doesn’t charge the phone at same time. Also the hdmi end gets very hot… might send it back and try something else.
