This soundtrack is legendary, but let’s not kid ourselves on the instrumentation of this. It’s completely harsh and quite abrasive and slow down on the arcade version of this game is legendary that’s because Technos Japan, keep that on the hardware because the actual CPU in the hardware is actually 8 bit.

idk, to me it's not overly abrasive - there are some pitches here and there that I disagree with, but I feel like the abrasive (if you want to call it that) tone goes well with the theme of the game - since you're beating people up and stuff :P

Love this theme and enjoyed listening to it when I played this stage I also loved getting thrown by Abobo and hear the Lee Brothers make that funny sound when it happened, "Uuuggghhhhhh!!" Fun times.

You're right -- Technos Japan Corp. developed the game, but it was licensed to Taito for distribution in North America.

I like the NES treatment better. This version doesn't have the vibrato or portamento happening in the solo. Not sure if that's because the original version of the song didn't have them, or because this chip couldn't produce them.
