Now the first time played this game was when I was a teenager. There was an Arcade near the Jr. H.S I used to attend but would ditch until lunchtime sometimes not go to school at all. So before class began myself and friends would not go and go to the Arcade instead to waste quarters on video games. Later the police would actually come inside the Arcade to look for those who were ditching school but me and my friends were long gone. DD 2 brings so much childhood memories! Thank you for reliving them!

I can just imagine the Dev team sitting down and saying: “Okay, we got people interested in our first game with shock value because a girl gets punched in the stomach right at the beginning. Yep, I wish there was a way you and I could play together, I never tire of the NES version, still my favorite NES game of all times, I can play that game 20 times in a row and never tired of it. The music, sound effects etc. all superior to the arcade version, even the ending was better, the arcade version was terrible compared to the NES version imho.

Marion WAS actually killed in Double Dragon II on the N.E.S. as well (though just wasn't actually shown to be), but was also resurrected after defeating the Mission 9 boss, unlike this version.
