Stars: Chester Morris, Nancy Kelly, Jane Farrar
Director: William Berke
Chester Morris plays Larry Burke, editor for a weekly photo magazine. Impressed by the work of photojournalist Pat Marvin, Burke hires Marvin sight unseen, only to discover that "he" is a "she" (Nancy Kelly). Having evidently never heard of Margaret Bourke-White, Burke insists that the shutterbug racket is no job for a dame, but Pat intends to prove him wrong. In the process, she becomes the prime suspect in a murder case, forcing Burke to come out from behind his desk and solve the mystery himself

One of the finest comedies we have ever watched. A perfect mixture of all the elements that created this pure, delightful magic. Thanks so very much. We love Chester Morris but Nancy Kelly and the actor that played Ben were stellar. Oh, all the supporting actors were 99% bang on as was the writing and directing. Really totally pleased and inspired! Gordon Welke and Leona Sackaney

I just love these comedies from the 40s and 50s, especially the screwball comedies. Sure, they don't have you rolling on the floor, but unlike today's movies they don't resort to bathroom jokes or farting references. The folks in the supporting roles are kind of fun, especially the guy who has been married multiple times. Funny, without stealing the scene from the stars when he tried to hit on the female photographer.

Nancy Kelly is only 23 years old in this (at least by release date of 1944). She seems a lot older, like 36. I just watched her in 1939 "Stanley and Livingstone" with Spencer Tracy. She was only 18, very pretty. Info says she was born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1921. Jack Kelly (Bart Maverick on "Maverick" TV Show) is her brother. She was in "Tarzan's Desert Mystery" (1943) with Johnny Weissmuller. Playing "Connie" not "Jane". I tried to find it to watch, but for some reason it is highly protected.

KNEE PADS AND OVAL OFFICE I’ve always been taught that anyone poor, or rich, could become President of the United states. Too, there were many tricks of the trade to actually become intimate with the chief executive, if one used the psychology of deviated instincts, that were conducive in satisfying a two-party intellectual slammer, in using a telephone while state affairs were electronically purveyed, or the interest of personality stock in trade affairs, or to nourish mother nature’s inclinations, as a dork in waiting. The late Tiny Tim wore ballet slippers while tip-toeing through the Lily pads. This was truly an art of professional standards and classical impunity. Then there was the late Bella Lafloy who tramped through daily life as flat-foot-floogie with a floy floy. Monica Lewinsky broke the record as she made it to the top with the most unusual trick of the trade. It is time for some overworked whore and skirt chaser to sit under the dome. Roger Dangerfield and Jerry Springer could have an on encore stage clamor in wrecking such innovative actions of fools of whom who crawl before the present administration that actually rule as a comedy of errors.
