Monolid eyes are just extra fatty eyelids that hide the eye, making it appear smaller. The fatty lid prevents a crease to form. It’s like old, thin skin vs bouncy baby fat

My heavy ass monolids could NEVER (Fellow Chinese kiddo) Also I blink really hard when I get itchy, so that tape AIN’T HOLDIN SHIT This was one of the many fuels that made the flames of facial dysmorphia burn me more. Luckily it’s not as bad anymore and I can watch this without getting triggered, but like…shit hurts man. Y’all with genetically inherited Asian creased eyelids, y’all are beautiful as heck. I can’t translate all of it, but I can give you a fast summary. Step 1: Clean off the oils and dirt from the skin of the eyelids Step 2: Put a little bit of powder on your eyelids (It will help the tape stick) Step 3: Put on some false eyelashes and a bit of eyeliner (It will help the effect of having bigger eyes and it’s much easier to do a little makeup before you use the tape) Step 4: Place the tape closer to the outer corner of your eye, towards the edge but leaving some space so it folds evenly. If you do it in the corner or center, it won’t hold evenly.) Step 5: Throw the tape in the trash. You don’t need it. So many makeup trends only made me hate my face more in the end, I hurt and scarred/cut my own face because I hated myself so much and I was jealous, because I didn’t have the features they had that society says is better. Learn to love and appreciate the beauty you were blessed with so you don’t end up like me. Good luck.

Lots of Chinese have double eyelids naturally. Some have monolids and some have double eyelids with epicanthic fold. So there is no such thing as "Chinese eyes"
