On the 7th of August, Steamrail Victoria ran their second annual 'Snow Train' from Melbourne to Traralgon. The tour was hauled by two hudson steam locomotives R761 (coal burner) and R711 (oil burner) hauling a mixture of heritage wooden and steel carriages. The journey south east also offered to side trips up to the snow at Mt Baw Baw or on the narrow gauge Walhalla Goldfields Railway.

Probably your best video yet. How did you manage to beat it from Nilma to Trafalgar? And the crew on 761 must have been trying to save coal!

Thankyou. Fortunately I had a good run with traffic and took the back road between Yarragon and Trafalgar which allowed me to avoid the two lanes of 'wheel watchers' without speeding.
