Thanks. I have avoided this pattern because of the empty spaces. Never dawned on me to fussy cut for the center. Great idea!

The space is great if you know how to custom long arm, which I don't. Hope you find a way to incorporate this into your 2024 projects!

That is a mighty big quilt. I will have to see how I can make it smaller, 45 x 45 perhaps.

25 blocks would give you 50 x 50. If you want to go even smaller you could use nine blocks to get 30 X 30 and then you could build out with borders. Just remember you have to keep it in odd increments to generate the chain pattern.
