Hi Maul... my knees are getting a lot stronger doing the drills. I'm wondering if you have a drill for the hands and wrists? I saw the exercise you did with a staff... and then showed it's application. Believe it was at a German seminar. It would be greatly appreciated if you could let me know of any others if you had time. Didn't expect results so fast and I do the drill everywhere.... quite embarrassing for the wife and kids 😳🤣 Thank you for all the help 🙏

Why is the opponent just standing there half the time? Like so much so he has time to "Jim look" the camera several times. He has ample opportunity to disengage, throw additional strikes to get back into range etc. But he stands there with his arm out and his body in the worst possible position. Then there is the mechanics of the knife wielding, so much wasted movement, so many slashes when a stab is much more pratical.
@latapekassim51043 жыл бұрын
The opponent just standing there for educational demonstration, it's for skill learning progression. Same thing when baby was born, they don't just get up and start talking and running. Even MMA's fighters has to learn skills by progression, they don't just get in the ring and start punching and kicking. If you watch more of his video, you would know that all extra punches, kicks, slashes and stab are just for prolonging the exercises. We knew if in real life the best skill in Martial arts are running from fight 1st. So if your enemy catch you after you trying to run, all the extra punches, kicks, slashes and stab may come useful.
@hughehhoule68483 жыл бұрын
@@latapekassim5104 First, the guy in the video isn't claiming to be an amateur. He is claiming to be a professional showing a skill. This skill is not being used in anything resembling real life. If the opponent did...anything, the dance routine would fall apart. Second, running is a terrible self defense option. If someone is enough of a physical threat I'm worried I can't fight them they sure as hell can run me down. All you are doing by running is taking skill out of the equation and putting your muscles against theirs.
@latapekassim51043 жыл бұрын
@@hughehhoule6848 back to your 1st comment, you mention about the 'opponent' not the instructor. You also mention about useless movement of slashes where stab is better. The word you are looking for here is scenario practise. We all know the world unpredictable. So the argument of if the opponent changes his move and the 'dance' would crumble apart is nonsense. They are in a seminar, so that 'dance' is a part of demonstration of an attacking scenario. I would run from a fight if the chances of escaping is bigger than the trouble of getting into a senseless fight that may be can end my life or the opponent life in some cases the law will bite you back for killing in self defense fight. The 'dance' that you are referring to also done in MMA, I'm not saying the same movement but the routine of what the opponent might do in the ring are practise to counter it. It's the scenario that are practise to counters. If you look at the BJJ practise, they done the same concept too. Again I stress, not the same movement but the scenario of an attack of opponent and what you can do to counter it. In the video case, they practise weaponry, so they do the scenario of mostly what an enemy attacking with weapon trying to harm you.

NO ART IS REALISTIC UNTIL THEY DO SPARRING, WITH PENS, RUBBER, WHATEVER... ALL WE SEE IS SOMEONE PUTTING THREE STRIKES ON ANOTHER ONE WHO JUST HAD THE TIME TO PUT ONCE, WHICH IS COMPLETELY SURREAL, IT MEANS YOU NEED TO HAVE 3X TIMES THE SPEED OF YOUR OPPONENT
@abdelhakyac72853 жыл бұрын
@@urbantacticalcombat what you mean is that boxers never learnt because their teacher beats the holy shit out of them??
@abdelhakyac72853 жыл бұрын
@UCvmW6GfTPM6l5sJuWuwF3tg that is absurd, you know what im saying, im not diminishing from the art, may it be silat or kali, the strikes are clever, but we need to integrate realism, otherwise, it worth nothing.... if you have a partner that moves once, than your turn to do 3 moves, then they strike second time, and you also do another 3 moves, this is simply unrealistic, at least if you wanna practice slowly you need to let the opponent do an action each times you do one, and even then, you need at some point do sparring, put on eye protections, helmets whatever and use pens, but you need real time speed at the end

Saludos
