On the roof you should do a prison break scene! maybe batman theme, helicopter hovering above with a rope down to the roof and maybe the Joker escaping with police chasing him up the stairs. Then have bat mobile out front with batman.

You should add the scene of Batman and Gordon on the roof of the police station. Since you have a whole pop culture street in the city, I think it would make sense.

I wonder what the facade would look like if you kept the left and right inset walls, but made them in the same color as the main facade. I feel like it would represent the style of the original model a bit more, but it's hard to tell until we can actually see it. Nonetheless, great work!

I’d think it would maybe look even better when those small window frames would be put on the outsides. That would be more in line with the original as well. Besides, because of the colorful buildings beside it, it looked less like a massive front of bricks than it does now, so maybe bring back more of the overgrowing ivy on the front/top side or so? And maybe double-up the red lined crime board as you have two of those and can make more connections now!

Idk if anyone else has mentioned it, but maybe there's some way you can put the missing window on the back of the building but black it out, as if the window was there and they needed to cover it up? Would make it seem like the building existed before it became the police station, or at least that the layout wasn't planned when the building was constructed, which could maybe be some fun world building (and symmetry bc I can't imagine they'd not build the window irl)

Love your doubled police station you build today! I can definitely tell it's a police station. And I think you should keep it where it is it looks great. One suggestion I would make: is to put atleast one more or a couple work stations and seating/waiting areas just to fill some of that empty space.

I think this MOC looks really good. It's a very New York/ turn of the 19th/20th century American style building (even moreso than the Town hall or the department store). You really captured that building style both in terms of facade detailing and proportions. Good Stuff..it is an excellent fit to the city. Also Kudos for being willing to change up the newer modulars...it makes a TON of sense why you want to preserve the older ones, (I too am doing a MOC city and I find myself leaving my modular sets alone. But I love seeing you experiment with the newer builds.

For the roof: Helicopter pad or water tower. They’d also need communications equipment beyond just those two antennas, so you could do a beefier comms tower. On the first floor for the blank wall: wanted posters or missing posters.

Love the new, wider police station, Bricksie! One suggestion: Move the seats on the ground floor waiting area over by one stud. The last seat is currently up against the side wall. Minifig has no room for their left arm!

For roof details; just fun minifig scenes would do; on mine, I tried to make a little bat signal and put a batman minifig! Maybe you could put like a police drone launching or set up some cops taking a work break. Or maybe set up a scene with thieves getting busy!

If you want a bit more texture on the back replace the area where the window would have been with a different, but close color brick, so it look like a patch job. you see that a fair bit in older cities and would break up that big tan section.

Well done on the new build. MAYBE if you want to add detail to the roof have a ladder or staircase to get to it, add a large ac unit, and rough looking chairs like the cops hang there after their shift.

Love the build, but I have a few thoughts. Bat signal on the roof! The chief office should be the interrogation room. The chief's office should be on the top floor with a few more desks for detectives.

I bought a second Police Station to do exactly this. What you are doing is transforming the set into an old-style modular, the kind of building you see everywhere, instead of the gimmicky over-busy sets they have come up with ever since Corner Garage, in my opinion the last authentic modular.
