Double Masters 2022 Draft Box Opening #10 - That's a Lot of Mythics...

It's been awhile since we cracked any Double Masters 2022. Let's change that with a Double Masters 2022 Draft box opening! The Mythics really came out to play in this box. Double Masters 2022 may not quite be as good as the original Double Masters but it's still an excellent set.

Yeah, the floor value is generally decent but these boxes can hurt. That said, this box was great and I got a bunch of stuff I was happy to pull. 😬

It’s found pretty good stabilization and equilibrium. There are plenty of goodies in the set. Will be interesting to see if WoTC can avoid reprinting some of these cards awhile to give them time to reinflate.

That's a pretty decent box. I didn't get any of this set due to the price point vs. bulk in the set. One odd thing that I have noticed is that Amanatu is a fairly rare pull from this set. She is on the pack art but I never see her pulled.

So, I’ve only pulled her a couple of times and I’d have to go back and check those videos but I kind of remember that you don’t generally want to see Aminatou. If I recall correctly she’s in the middle of a string of low value multi-color Mythics on the print sheet. So depending on where you hit that part of the print sheet you could be in for a bad box.

DM22 is a fun set to open but it can be painful too. I do think it has a reasonably high floor but you’re far from certain to hit what you paid for the box. I would say it depends on what your long term goal is… I obviously open a bunch of stuff but I also store and keep a fair amount sealed as well. If you want a fun opening experience and aren’t as concerned with the long term, crack it! Even if you don’t pull altar you’ll at least pull cards you could trade for one. (Though it’s always more fun to open the card you want)

@@WildcatMTG I'd be very satisfied, although the only 2 cards I've yet to pull any version of are Dockside and Imperial. I'm always telling myself "Dude, you have a collection of extras worth over $$$$, you can just trade or sell to get what you want", but alas, I never do lol. I keep nearly 99.9% of what I open.

I hang on to about 75% which is far too high. Lol I find myself with like 12 copies of a card and will convince myself that I’d be upset if that card goes up and I traded the extra copies off. Even though I may not have played with or even looked at the card in months. I’ve started to recycle a larger percentage to reinvest singles stuff into more sealed or Reserved List stuff though.

@@WildcatMTG Dual Brain Ed has got me checking buylists and I have an absurd amount of cards that I don't need at all that I could convert to some serious RL and super high end sealed (and easily get a Mishras Workshop, my #1 most wanted), it's just getting the inspiration to go through 10 or 11 five slot boxes card by card to pull and catalog everything. I'm always like "next Saturday is the day..." but next Saturday never comes. For real though, this message kind of inspired me to get started so hopefully this weekend 🙏 lol
