how long is the conduit on the back of the oven? Installers are telling me 36" but tech specs say 60" - we already had box installed and will have to move it if it is only going to reach 36" I have tried calling everywhere for help but am getting no where... thanks!

The video seems to show the electrical junction box in a cabinet above the oven. Is this a recommended location of the junction box? The installation instructions for a similar KitchenAid double oven (model KODE507EBS) say to locate the junction box below the oven floor. I have no room below the oven floor in my kitchen...so I'm wondering if I can use the space I do have in the cabinet above the oven.

Doug, we can only recommend installing your Double Oven per the Installation Guide of this model. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

@@wservicekitchenaid9982 Why then does the video show the conduit from the oven being routed up through a flat surface to the junction box? The oven must be located below the opening containing the junction box...agree? Or is the video misleading on this point?

The installation guide does not provide a junction box location

@@coryl8119 Take a look at the 4th bullet on pg 3 of the Installation Instruction...it is very explicit on the location of the junction box.

The most important pieces of information is missing from this video…where is the junction box located? Is it in the same cavity space as the oven or in a cabinet above or below? Sure would be good to know that!

You should always hook your ground up first, then neutral, and last your hot wires. Just saying

this is the comment I was looking for.. Always hook grounds up first, disconnect last. Safety first
@daveguzman25423 жыл бұрын
It really won't make much difference, if it's hot and you close the circuit with the same hand.. it will do a close distance arch. The possibility of injury will be close to the same scenario.. The main concern is making sure power is off. Use proper gear, gloves, etc & insulated tools. And always treat the cables as if they were live. One by one & respecting each one. Sometimes it's safer to cut the main breaker, but even so, never trust the breaker. The tag maybe mislabeled, or the wire may be feed from another panel. Even from a neighbor feed (condos, townhouses, multifamily complex, etc)

Our home currently has two 30 amp breakers and #6 awg Aluminum electrical wire going to our oven that quit working. We want to get a new oven from Kitchen Aid. The new oven requires #8 gauge copper wire and 40 amp breakers. Do I really need to remove my existing aluminum wire? Are two 30 amp breakers actually a total of 60 amps? Sorry for the uninformed questions. I always like learning. Thank you.

My current oven/microwave combo unit is sitting on two 1x6's. Do I need to install a full floor and use the feet or can this just sit on the 1x6's? I also currently have 2 30amp breakers and 10 gauge wire. I can switch the breakers if I have to but do I need to? Is that even acceptable to use a 40 amp breaker with 10 gauge wire? This unit has 10 gauge wire coming out of it not 8. I was hoping this would be an easier process....... which it will be once the electric is sorted out....

@@Fcbmessi97 Yes. It works fine. I touched the breakers the first few times I used it to make sure they were not hot. They weren't even warm. Over engineered to cover their butts I guess.

I thought you always start wiring by the Ground, Common, then Hot? I think it would be a whole lot safer to tell people to get a licensed electrician. The amps your messing with can kill you.
