🟠 Question of the day: Why is winning the Pearl Professional Snare Drum important to you, and how do you think it will impact your drumming journey?
@jahisaulsharpe97026 ай бұрын
Winning this snare will help me complete the sound I’ve been working on that show who I am behind the kit. Its style, size, cut, tonality, and mechanics just speaks to my being. I would like use this to really help establish myself in this community and hope to one day return the favor passing it on to the next generation

The answer is clear to me. Firstly, the design is stunning; it looks absolutely amazing! I recently completed construction of my drum recording studio, where I've invested heavily in acoustics, monitors, and more. Now, to ensure I can deliver the best sound to every client's song, I need to expand my collection with additional cymbals and drums. The Pearl snare drum would be a perfect addition to achieve that goal.

@JuanCarlitoMendoza I have slowly but surely built my kit bit by bit, adding drums when I am able to do so. I have always adored Pearl drums. Ever since playing the Pearl kit at school, I had fallen in love with the sound and have built my Pearl Masters kit from the ground up. I have been using an old ludwig snare on my setup and it has served me well.. sounds great in fact! But the addition of this beautiful green snare drum would be the icing on the cake.. Finally completing my Pearl setup. Having been amazed by your drum off winning solo (Sandy Hook) I have followed your channel closely.. being constantly challenged and inspired to try new things on the kit. It would be an absolute HONOUR to win this snare from you, and its beautiful green 'envious' finish would be a constant reminder to put in the work, strive for greatness and never to forget the feeling I used to get when first sat behind the kit, all those years ago. Much love and respect for taking the time to teach all us mere mortals🤣 Keep up the great work Juan! 💚 💚 🥁🔥

1 - Pearl es el un sonido completo, con mucha versatilidad, es usado por bateristas de jazz, pop, funk, metal, etc. su sonido es único, ese snare con esa profundidad está perfecto para mi, tendría el otro sonido que busco.

I just want to congratulate you on a great video. Great structure and value. I started drumming a couple of months ago and have been watching a lot of content and it's really great to see how you build up to something through precise exercises just like in the syncopation book. Much better than just hearing explanations of concepts or watching things much outside of your skill level. Really great stuff, thank you.

I recently began taking drumming more serious and have been practicing non stop for months now, I even found a band to play in lol. My in-laws noticed how dedicated I was and had a drum set they weren’t using and offered it to me. The drum set in mentioned is a custom pearl kit made exactly like the one in this giveaway. I had hoped to one day finding a snare to complete this set and one of my favorite drummers is having a giveaway of what I’ve been looking for😫 God is good 🔥🔥🔥

Woaah, Es Muy Genial Juan😮👍👍 Coincidentally, nowadays I'm learning Double Paradiddle on Drum Pad, your precious lesson are very effective in helping me play the Paradiddle very fluently, thank you very much for all your extraordinary drum lessons which are very interesting to the point of making me practice drums non-stop, in fact the way you teach is much more interesting than my drum teacher which is quite boring haha😅 All your drumming is very impressive and strongly motivates me to develop improvisational skills in drums so that I am more confident performing drums in public and more courageous to take part in drum competitions. I'm also a heavy fan of yours, especially the first time I saw you at Guitar Center-Drum Off and because I saw you were really professional at playing drums at Drum Off, I started to be interested in learning drums. Thomas Lang, you, Lars Ulrich, John Bonham, and several other world drummers are my big idols. I also recommend to my drum teacher and my drum friends that they can check out your channel to improve their skills in Drums. I also started to be interested in learning samba when you taught it at Drumeo, but it was very difficult haha😅. Actually, I've only been learning drums for a month and a half, last month I started a drum course, but I haven't bought a drum kit, nowadays I plan to buy a drum kit but I prefer the Pearl brand, like the one you have. I'm still very confused about which type of Pearl to buy which would be the best, maybe do you have any recommendations for what type of Pearl drum would be good to buy? Sorry for my bad English, this is the first time ever I comment on KZbin😅🙏🏻

Hey John! Thank you for your kind words! I really appreciate it! As far as a drum set. It really depends on your budget! The Pearl export is great! Studio sessions select is incredible! All depends on the budget. Also don’t be afraid of buying used drum sets. They can be great for half the price.

Ancora una volta una dimostrazione che l'utilizzo dei rudimenti, di queste piccole cellule ritmiche, sta alla base del drumming. Purtroppo a me non suonano bene come fai tu. Ma tutto questo contribuisce alla mia apertura mentale verso un diverso tipo di suono. Sempre grazie ❤

Your lessons and Idea videos are one of the best on KZbin. Easy to understand. I've been a drummer for 37 years and still suck at those kind of rudiments. I really tried to learn them for 15-17 years, but they just don't get up to a usable speed like you showing in the faster examples. Frustrating for me.
@JuanCarlitoMendoza6 ай бұрын
I get it! I spent A LOT of time on a practice pad for years so that’s the only reason I am able to play them at those tempos. However, check your drum set up. Maybe it’s not ergonomically correct for your body and working harder. I’m constantly trying to adjust things to make it easier for myself
@PezrulezHaakon6 ай бұрын
@@JuanCarlitoMendoza Thank you for your reply. Ergonomics, and personal ergonomics are definitely an important aspect. I've always tried to keep my drums and cymbals as close as possible, so I reach most of my stuff within the reach of mt forearm + drumstick, without doing so much movement with my upper arm. I mostly play a standard 2-4-piece drumset, depending on the occation. I also have a technique where I don't struggle that much. I'm usually relaxed and feel when the stick is doing the work. My problem has always circled arond two things. 1, Getting my body to learn and internalize the most common rudiments up to a usable speed.. 2, Orchestration and coordination with those rudiments.

All of the groove part on the hats could just as easily be done with single stroke roll. So what was the point of the D.Paradiddle? If you split up the hands on multiple surfaces then the D.P will sound awesome. Otherwise it was just an over complicated triplet groove displacing the kick. Easy.
@JuanCarlitoMendoza6 ай бұрын
Every sticking has a different feeling to it. Can you play it with a single stroke sticking? Yes, BUT the FEEL of the sticking gives it a different vibe. So while your view is very valid, it’s not necessary that cut and dry. There are things that Steve Gadd does where you can say why doesn’t he just play it this way, but there’s an intention/purpose behind it to make it feel a certain way (by the way I’m not comparing myself to Steve). It’s like sure you can take a shortcut, but it doesn’t necessarily mean it was good for the journey because there could have been a valuable lesson there if you were open to it. Either way you have an opinion and it’s valid and you can continue to believe that the lesson was over complicated for no reason and that’s fine. Thank you for your opinion and have a great day. 👍👌
