Your the most patient mama ❤️ I can't imagine having to do this to/for my child. Your so honest with her, even tho she so little you take her through what's going on. And when nothing else works you grab her and get it done because you HAVE TO, to keep her alive, there's no option, your amazing mama!

@@TheT1DMama I totally agree! I commented on one of your other videos about my son who is now 14 and also T1D but I am obsessed w Addie and her little personality! You do such an amazing job w her! My son was 8 when he got his diagnosis and it was awful until we got OmniPod & Dex - MDI’s sucked! Funny Side note: when I’m watching your videos and Addie’s pod beeps my son comes out of his room everytime thinking it’s his PDM 😅 he says mom why are you so obsessed w this KZbin channel? LOL 😂

I've learned that when our blood sugars are high we are more ill or agitated, it has nothing to do weather you tell her it's not going to hurt. You're doing a great job! And Addy is acting just like a three year old would, now add in the fact that she has type 1 diabetes and is experiencing a blood sugar high (that comes with not wanting to be bothered by anything). Now I can say this because it has happened to me plenty of times I have placed my decom in the exact same place before and it not hurt, then the next time I've put my dexcom in the exact same place it hurt like hell.

As someone with Turner síndrome, I had to inject hormones every night, the first thing I learned was: not the same spot, never, arm one day, other arm next, the next is belly, the next belly other side and here we go again. After I learned to apply myself, I didn't like my mom making the injection on me, but sometimes when she wanted to rest my leg and belly she made it always on my arm.

Addie is SO BRAVE!! She does better with her Dexcom changes than I do sometimes! I have severe allergic reaction to the adhesive and I’ve asked if they have anything for sensitive skin but so for no luck. God bless you Addie and your awesome momma and family!! You give me strength!!!❤❤

I’m don’t use dexcom . I’m allergic to alot of dressing and need to use them. You can get barrier creams and sprays. I use cavilon cream but as that reduces the adhesive then cavalon spray then it will stick. The area where the needle goes in (or open sore) you put a little bit of gauze or cleaning wipe. Changed my life no skin reactions and dressing stick.

There is something called an under patch, med expression sells them, I am sensitive to adhesives too, but what ever this company uses seems to not cause me issues. Good luck!

My mom is diabetic tip 2, but she can't use dexcon, she is allergic to THE NEEDLE, the normal thing (put the needle, inject the medicine and out) no problem, but, if she has much contact with it, she has an allergy. Sorry my English, Brasilian here.

Hi just thought I would let you know that to get the bubbles out you put just a bit more insulin in the syringe than you need then tap the bottom of the plunger so it moves the bubble to the center and then push plunger to get rid of bubble and extra insulin in the plunger to where you normally need the insulin to be in syringe. For me it gets rid of the bubbles. Not sure if that all makes sense but that is how I get rid of the bubbles. Sometimes some bubbles remain but the pod takes care of that when it is prepping the pod before you put it on.

I have a question for you, and please do not take this as criticism. We just started with omnipod last week (21 year old with Autism), and I am curious as to how this is working with the components on the opposite sides of the body, (right arm/left leg etc). The biggest take away from our endo and trainers was that the components had to be on the same side of the body to be able to communicate with each other. Again, just real curious as I would love to be able to do this if it works??

Hello warriors You could try making it a game that gets her motivated like getting a point every time she does it or start a sticker book and that she gets a sticker every time so she has a goal. It's just a tip but I have really super respect how you are helping her through it! Ps I also have a disability which means I can't do everything and have to do exercises every day and that's not fun either but it always helps me to think of things that you can do because of that and others can't, like if she has to go to the hospital one more time make it a nice trip instead of just going to the hospital.

@@jerridombrowski6017 Do you know me? Do you know my husband had cancer and died when our son was 4 years old. How much compassion would a person have to have to care for their spouse, the love of their life, the Father of their child? You tell me, judge, jury, and executioner. Maybe just leave your comment to the video and leave others to their common sense, nice comments. For your information my brother in law was diagnosed at 7 yrs old. I know what he eats and avoids, what the Drs told him and tell him now. What you talk about is like having high blood pressure medicine and still eating stuff that raises your blood pressure. That is a roller coaster that may not always pay off for any patient, it didn't for my brother in law when he was a young adult commuting to college, he almost killed himself and ran into this family's home, thank God he came around before hand. Diabetics or anyone dealing with a lifelong managed disease need stability and they need routine. Because when you are at school, teacher can't have you running around the classroom to lower your numbers, right?!

It won’t help her body no longer makes useable insulin. The only cure is a pancreas transplant (normally done with part of the bowel and leaving the person with a stoma. So it’s really major surgery with all the transplant issues. It’s rarely done as most T1 diabetics can live a relatively normal life with insulin pods /injections.
