Finally, I found someone who simply talks about the change of the thumb position! I am an old player who is re-entering how to practice the violin. Thank you! You validated my thoughts!

Dear Joy thank you so much for the advice! I've been struggling to play thirds in tune. After watching this video I tried to apply this mindset during practicing (thinking of shifting the melody note first), and my intonation immediately improved! Thank you sooooooo much

Do you know any good violin solos with thirds i could learn? Or other double stops
@JoyLeeViolin3 жыл бұрын
There are many wonderful solo pieces with double stops. Haydn violin concerto in C major would be one of them. Happy practising!

Does the bow have to be parallel to the frog ?
@JoyLeeViolin4 жыл бұрын
Dear Josue, not always. As you get more advanced the bow contact points need to be more flexible to adopt the changes of number of strings and dynamics. But in general keeping the bow parallel to the bridge is a good start. Happy violin playing!
