Why play dps when you can play anything else? Same question I asked when my buddy dragged me into an open queue comp game and it was 1 tank, 2 dps, 2 healer.

Back in overwatch 1 I was playing with one of my counterstrike friends but in overwatch. I quickly found out why they were silver when they dragged me into open queue comp and insisted on 2-2-2 xD

I actually really enjoyed the matches I played. Duo tank felt good, Solo Sup didn't feel that bad but does force your hand in terms of selection. Its extremely early but all Comp types felt fairly viable.

Isn't it just overall better to pick 2 tanks, 2 supp and 1 damage than any other combination? Tanks like Doom, D. VA, Hog and Zarya can deal significant damage while also not exploding immediately like some Damage do

Well damage has always been the weakest role. If all of OW life there only a few dps that defined the meta. Bastion had a few that were basically protect the president meta, and then all way back when the game was only no limits there was all tracers, after that all other dps is do to good combo with Mercy or Ana/nano and a few where because of Zarya. Beyblade, pharmacy, nano blade, nano visor, grav dragon, grav blade, double sniper and technical the sorjoun meta

People often think this but in my experiences dps ults are more potent for killing while tanks ults are better for comboing

Yeah I noticed this yesterday. Queen Doom and Ball have next to no survivability if there’s an enemy sombra. The hack damage boost is too strong. If we do go back to 6v6, I can 100% see her getting ANOTHER rework.

The big difference is you can't play Open Queue goats comps because of the 1 dps and 1 less tank. It gets a lot more fun (albeit still not that great) when goats or other 3 tank comps aren't being played.

This is a fun little game mode, I get to finally play with my tank buddies. I get to think about tank composition now. But it essentially invalidates DPS, which has the most characters and is the most popular role still. I respect them for testing new stuff, but I can tell this ain’t the answer.

Did they fix Zarya being able to bubble reins charge? If Rein pins you as Zarya, if you hold the self bubble button down you bubble at the end of his pin, blocking pin dmg and getting the charge. Could have been used ar 2:20 unless they fixed it.

0:41 why are you surprised? DPS is always a hot role. With this type of open queue, it will always be 2 DPS in every game regardless of the tank/support composition. You won't see 2 tanks 2 supports 1 DPS.

I stepped foot into ow2 for the first time, and one thing I always said, is that every character damage is enough, that you can take one dps out of the equation. 2 tanks, 2 healer, 1 dps is the way for me.

i have a problem with two tank, as a dps tracer, they dont die(i thought i would somewhat possibly to 1v1 them) like 150 less health is not enough for me to put up with 2 tanks instead of one, also some tanks didn't even get 150 less health like hog, wreaking ball and zarya. so the appeal two tank had is starting to evaporate, also the health increases and support sustain creep is not looking like they will be reverted in 6v6 so i feeling like i would rather have one tank that at very least i can ignore easily, as ignoring two is significantly harder. i am still looking forward to proper implementation of 6v6 before making up my mind, but 5v5 limit 2 min 1 is not looking that good. if anything it making me hate playing against tanks even more than in 5v5. i have 300 hours on tracer only playing for past 4 seasons (total 500 hours), so my opinion are not that valid ,but hopefully they will make more changes in next few modes. example changes nerf tank health not all but they one that have too much sustain remove ult charge penalty for shooting tanks nerf support (immortalities and aoe(area of effect) healing), i dont care that they have decent damage revert hitbox and health changes ( they keep making the game noob friendly, it lowers skill expression ) nerf one shot if possible (dont care too much, but they are annoying, especially when bundles together with above issue, if above issues are addressed i can live without one shot nerfs)

1 supp comps work better than I expected but it depends heavily on what everyone is playing. Obviously the best by far is 2 tanks 2 supps I cant lie I like it, but knowing how muh of the player base are dps players idk if its sustainable at all. I still had fun playing dps but a lot of ppl will want that 1 dps slot

solo support/heal isn't too bad depending on the map and what your team picks. it does limit what support you can pick, as well, but funneling more into healing isn't that terrible. it's a more vulnerable comp to pick because if your one healer goes down, that's it!
