If somebody travels to Taiwan and he says to his family that "good bye, I travel to meet someone in China", then he sends a postcard from Taiwan, his family will be like. "what the..?" It's like calling Britain part of Italy or France or Norway. It doesn't make any sense to me call it China. Can you explain to me, how Taiwan is part of China. Do you mean Chinese culture?

Taiwan needs to increase its defense spending considerably, however the US will not sell any more advanced fighters, main battle tanks or other systems. Taiwan is going to have to step up and build a lot more advanced weapon systems, most of all submarines.

It's a matter of time PRC adopts the democratic system again, only in that moment ROC will take back the territory that they lost in the Chinese civil war. In that very moment the whole territory will be reunified as the ROC. Now, in a different situation where the PRC doesn't fall, it's preferable to see and recognize Taiwan as an independent country.

In the past the US always supported the Republic of China in Taiwan in our attempts to take back the mainland. This included a big effort around 1962/3. At the last minute the US chickened out: otherwise today we would be celebrating Double 10 in Beijing.
