Outstanding! This is an awesome service you provide. It has to be harder to rebuild boots than it is to make them from scratch.

Being an old carpenter, I’m wondering why this guy holds those brad nails like they do? Instead of thumb and forefinger wouldn’t it be easier holding them like roofers between your index and second finger knuckles down? Easier to see and thinner. Short nails are easier to smash a finger. If I were a cobbler and were driving nails perpendicular to the work, I’d do it that way.
@nicksboots
@nicksboots Жыл бұрын
Depending on the operation the nails often have to go in at a precise angle, so thumb/index allows a bit more control there

@jasonsexton8869
@jasonsexton8869 10 ай бұрын
The outsoles are still rubber and leather, so you should be well insulated from said electricity. The nails don't(or really they shouldn't) poke into the interior of the shoe where your foot is. There's a couple layers between you and the nails, let alone the screws.

You put dozens of nails and screws under the boot but stuck a thin lining inside. Don't the nailed nails bother people's feet later on?
@nicksboots
@nicksboots Жыл бұрын
No they do not, all the nails hit a plate on the bottom of the last, turning them over and clinching.

@jasonsexton8869
@jasonsexton8869 10 ай бұрын
You usually do, but even back in the day shoes needed re-soling now and then. Hob nail soles(metal studded) even needed replacing eventually. You bought the shoes for life, the soles were replaceable.
