Great stuff! Loved seeing the HR monitor data alongside paces. Drew and the rest of the team look like they're in great shape for a summer of racing.

Double thresholds are definitely the trendy workout to do right now. I wonder if they’ll continue to be popular in the future.

Unless we somehow find a more optimal way to train, I think lots of threshold each week will remain the dominant system for distance athletes. I’m curious to see if the 2/day twice a week set up continues or if someone finds an even more efficient set up

Yeah it’s definitely gonna stay super popular because it’s simply just the most efficient way to train. You’re getting a maximum amount of aerobic training while keeping it fairly chill on the legs.

Fashions in training come and go. The science is also subject to new stuff coming along. In the 1940s and 1950s Gerscler popularised intyerval training based on the 180/120 heart rates. That as considered THE scientific way to train. Then along came Lydiard - his ideas were eventually validated by scientists even if he did not devise his formula scientifically. Threshold work is "in" right now - but I bet that in a decades time it will be regarded as very old hat.

I really enjoy this type of content, even if it is “boring threshold work” as Drew put it. Good work, Gordo!

Would absolutely love if you asked them more about their training. Like their weekly structured and other things.

UGH i bought the GARMIN 265 for 200 bucks more last week :( COROS looks awesome

I haven't watched the video yet, but I have both the Garmin 265 and Coros Pace 3. You will not regret the Garmin for sure. It does everything the Coros does and a little more. Granted I am currently using the Coros daily because I like the fewer features and better battery life. Either way the 265 for $200 is a great deal, and it is a great watch. It is appealing though when all the influencers and a lot of pro runners are sponsored by Coros so you just see them all over. I would get into the Garmin ecosystem and just see how it works for you. I found it was great, but I was relying too much on it's metrics to determine my training instead of my body. For some people that is helpful though.
