I get why he has so little respect for Rudy Gobert. As good as Gobert is as a paint defender, he's lacking in other areas that you'd expect from a 4x DPOY. Prime Draymond was an elite on-ball defender, help-defender, post-defender, rim-protector, defensive floor general, pick-pocket, etc. Literally zero weaknesses in his defensive game. If any player in the modern era deserved to be a 4x DPOY, it's Draymond Green. The fact that he was given the award only 1x with how dominant he was on that end of the floor is a travesty.

No he wasn’t, but he was at his peak on par with everybody who isn’t Olajuwan Duncan Pippen or Kawhi. Outside of those four and maybe a few other GOAT level defenders??? He’s genuinely in the conversation with anybody. His team defense, his quarterbacking and doing for the defense what a guy like Magic did for the offense is incalculable. But even then, his genuine lockdown ability was massive. And his swithchability is almost unparalleled throughout history. But in the playoffs when it's the second round and every team left is elite teams will spam things that work and do less things that don't work. I've never understood the notion that you had to be alive during a players career to be able to make accurate projections about where they rank in all time discussions. You are either paid by Draymond or not very intelligent. you describe normal defense sequences as "the best I've ever seen" 😄I can make a video with similar clips about like 10 current defenders. Draymond's advantage is that his height is of a small forward but he plays as PF or center, and thus he's quicker and got quicker hands than real centers. But at the same time this lack of height is a liability in rebounding and rim protection. No one is afraid of driving to the basket because Draymond is there. Draymond is not even close to the defender Anthony Davis is, let alone all-time greats like Russel, Hakeem, Ben Wallace, Motumbu, etc.
