How would I make a material on a model not react to light? (i need lights for a room that is dark, but a character i use has eyes that turn white from just a little bit of light)

@4.55 What did you convert the .dmx file to to open it in notepad?

SFM ships with a tool called dmxconvert.exe. I ran it on a session file with the output encoding set to keyvalues2. You can run it in the command line to get help on how to use it.

i need help in the element viewer there is an object called session and because it is there the other objects wont show HELP ME PLS

The "session" object is the first object that the Element Viewer shows by default. You can browse through the elements in there, like the "activeClip", as well. Otherwise you you rightclick an Animation Set -> Show in Element Viewer

Shainy Ohara Ah sorry, I forgot on what video we're on! In theory you should be able to use "matrix", but I never got it completely working like that. I usually put it into the VMT directly instead. There are some other legacy commands (like $bumpscale iirc) which might be easier to override instead - if they actually work.
