Fun fact: The movie was originally intended to be a R rated horror movie and was going to be directed by John Carl Buechler (makeup artist behind Friday the 13th Part 7) but the studio changed it to make it sell for kids. However some posters for the movie still credit Buechler as the director.

Throwing up when you see or hear someone else vomiting is this amazing evolutionary adaptation. People usually eat with other people. If someone you know is throwing up, it could mean that you ate what they ate, so your nervous system just says, "fuck no, we're gonna puke right now, hopefully we don't get as sick as Valerie Vomit over here." Finding dirty stuff disgusting is something hard wired to help you survive.

You know what’s really depressing about this film? They roped in Jim Cummings to voice the Fonzy wannabe and the dork with acne and the uncontrollable bladder. Yes, THE Jim Cummings, the legendary voice actor that played half the characters on the Disney Afternoons and appeared in literally every other cartoon during the late 80s and 90s and is still in the business. He is a modern-day Mel Blanc, he has an amazing vocal range. And he had a role in the Garbage Pail Kids movie. Unsurprisingly, he was outraged by the final product and actively spoke against it, especially in calling it highly inappropriate for kids.

Also, the 80s as a whole were objectively a terrible time for animation what you talking about. Disregarding Post 1988(Witch is when Animation officially got out of the dark ages that started in the late 60s) as one the few of gen z well versed in 80s animation, i can only think of 5 tv shows that were good, and only Don Bluths movie are the only good animated features.

Hey, guys, you should watch the movie Shrunken Heads from 1994, I remember watching it as a kid and being horrified at the plot about three kids that accidentally come across a mafia boss who kills them and a voodoo priest resurrects their shrunken heads. I was one of those kids who obsessively collected GPK cards. In my 4th grade class in 86-87 there were kids with shoe boxes full of em trading before and after school, looking for those rare, unlisted 3rd variants... and I fondly remember going to the convenience story to buy Series 3, 4, 5, and 6. I remember renting the movie... and it being bad.. but at the time.. it seemed fine... a trash movie for Garbage Pail Kids. It fit the brand anyway. Plus.. Bad movies based on kids stuff was kinda the norm (ahem... Maters of the Universe). So it didn't feel like an "affront" to us kids. It was however something I never felt I needed to see again... and the movie is exactly when the fad started to wear off... probably helped hasten it's demise. Plus.. most of use had just gotten (or were about to get) Nintendos so all our allowance went from buying bubble gum cards to saving up to buy Rygar or Kid Icarus.

Billy's laugh is the best part of this review. Why is Greaser Greg Italian? He's supposed to be a Greaser from the 1950s in the U.S. They were normally teens that wore a leather jacket, used hair grease that was popular at the time. I know because I love the musical Grease and The Outsiders is a great movie too. The Garbage Pail Kids movie is so bad it has to be seen. It's even on TCM Underground.
