+Jorn Overa My dad told me that when he was 6 or 7, he and his friend found a kitten and decided to play with it. They propped a little ramp and threw the kitten on it over and over again and watched it slide down, until eventually it died, of course. I think it didn't occur to them that that will hurt it. He told me he came home and told this to his mother and she said "God will hang you from your eyelashes for this". He himself said that thing will take him to hell. He's vegetarian now.

I shot a bird when I was a kid, just like that kid, It fell to the ground, I had to shoot it aagain and agin, its was in so much pain, had to put it out of the misey I caused it. Iwas just a little kid with bb gun. Never shot anyelse ever again, I can see it clraely in my mind 40 years later. I've beed saving and feeding birds ever since. Strange this is, if not for that death I would have never known, never would have learned to respect all life and to try and bring joy and help not hurt.

My "kind-of-nephew" used to repeatedly play too hard with an old cat, his grand-parents' very old and very patient cat. He'd push it, hit it, press hard on the cat. He'd be reprimanded, but not too much because the parents were very protective and he was only 3, barely understanding the consequences. Then the cat got very sick and nearly died while he was there. Cat had to go to the vet for a few days, wouldn't eat anymore, got sick a lot. He cried and said it was his fault, even though everyone told him no, that the cat was old... But he got scared and cried a lot. Now, he is very very gentle and soft with the cat, that survived. The cat loves to stay around him and isn't scared anymore.

One morning out of the blue my dad told me about how he shot a bird with his BB gun when he was a kid but the bird died and my dad said he felt bad because he didn’t think it would kill the bird. I don’t remember what kind of bird he said it was it was either a Yellow Canary, a Blue Jay, or a Robin. I just thought it was strange he told me that because it was a while after i found this video and he usually never talks about himself at all especially not about sad things like that.

The neighbor girl and I did the same thing as a kid, except it was with a squirrel. It just sat there struggling for ages and the only thing we could do was keep shooting it in the head hoping it would eventually stop. It was terribly painful to watch, and I'll never forget the look on her face as we sat there trying to put it out of it's misery, it was horrible.

Mogwai has such amazing music. It's not just that. It's art. In the strictest, but best, definition of it. Art should make you realize new things, feel deep emotions, broaden you. My favorite lyric is: "music is bigger than words and wider than pictures" from "Yes! I am a long way from home" which is another great song. But all of Mogwai's songs are great.
