I now have a testimony of Elder Renlund's apostleship. Thank you. This was exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you Sister Renlund as well. Excellent witnesses.

I too know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church of Jesus Christ restored on earth. I know Jesus Christ is our Savior.

LDS Friends, because your doctrine of Christ, the Most Holy Trinity and other central doctrines of Orthodox Christianity are false then your faith in Jesus is gravely lacking.

Can we just stop? Since when does the church present anything about the church as run down, in ill repair, paint peeling, steering not working correctly, etc.? Why the ridiculously unrealistic scenario? No one rescued in an ocean situation you describe is going to ask to be put back into the ocean. This is ridiculous. It would have been more accurate to portray the rescuing captain as someone who picks you up and then when you say something he doesn't like, picks you up and flings you overboard. Now that would accurately represent what often happens in the church. Or the captain hands you a set of rules, clothing to wear, and jobs to do, asks you to empty your pockets, and says, "I'll get you to shore, but only if you do exactly what I tell you and work for me. If you deviate from any of this, I'll throw you overboard." That, too, would have been far more accurate.

I'm sorry you've been hurt by the church.

@riantaveras7587 Lovely. Now use that to go find out how many people in your ward the church is hurting and fix it. Our wards are full of people getting hurt no one sees, listens to, or has a clue about. Or helps. I'm endlessly astonished at the level of hypocrisy in the LDS church which everyone seems completely oblivious to from the prophet on down.

@@phoenixrising5338 I've seen this exact scenario play out many times with members of my family, I think it's very accurate. The only thing I would add to the story is someone driving by the boat pointing out to the young man all the flaws in the boat and the captain and the boy listening to them, jumping out and going to swim to the other boat only to see it drive off leaving them there to try and figure out what boat to get in or whether or not they even need a boat. That was the scenario for my mom, my sister, my cousin's whole family. They all listened to someone who points out all the flaws in the boat, so they left the boat but they're all still trying to figure out what boat to get in or if they even believe a boat can help them on their journey. My sister ended up getting back in the boat after realizing the ocean wasn't all she was told it would be.

@@phoenixrising5338 I agree that there are a lot of people hurting in our wards. I've spent 15 years in leadership positions and that's exactly what we focused on. I'm sure we weren't perfect at it, but we tried to minster to everyone we could. We had some amazing experience. You can read about one such experience in Richard Ostler's book Listen, Learn and Love. www.deseretbook.com/product/6003149.html?srsltid=AfmBOook6bLtdj9afgmdqB7thC-EhAK1I1quLfFD6-waDdsnlYcXTq-7
