Truly Roger Doucet was the best of anthem singers. I can't think of another who combined his combination of talent, skill, gusto and gravitas. If I had it my way, only trained opera singers would do the anthems at big public events.

there is no deception it is clear it is a montage done to honor the great Roger Doucet, at the time in 1972, it was not allowed to sing the Soviet anthem because of conflict with the words.. So get off your horses and enjoy Roger Doucet.

Je Trouve la musique Russe encore plus ennuyeuse (pompeuse) que la celle du canada. Mais les paroles du « oh Canada » sont carrément sexistes référant aux exploits militaires et à la religion éteignoire pour les femmes. Les 2 hymnes sont surement composés par un homme. Je ne peux juger des paroles Russes ne connaissant pas la langue. Mais ce serait intéressant de comparer les paroles des hymnes nationaux de tous les pays, on constaterait probablement le même sexisme fondamental.
