@@smartluck100 (CNN): In 1933, Smith starred in the film “Hello, Everybody!” in which she sang the song “Pickaninny Heaven.” The song asks “colored children” living in an orphanage to dream about a magical place of “great big watermelons." Another song that has raised eyebrows in recent weeks is Smith’s 1931 rendition of “That’s Why Darkies Were Born,” written by Ray Henderson and Lew Brown. The song was also covered by African-American singer and activist Paul Robeson. Some people have said the song was originally considered satire. But today, those lyrics read much differently: “Someone had to pick the cotton, Someone had to plant the corn, Someone had to slave and be able to sing, That’s why darkies were born”

Flyers had nothing to do with it. Comcast is to blame, and all the phony politicians who caved in to a minority. political correctness is Bull Bring it back.

The greatest day ever. I’m all of 7 years old front and center as she kicks this out. I was a champion bodybuilder and baseball player. To this day I have never had so much adrenaline as she finishes whew

As a Flyers Fan From The 90's This Performance is One Of The Best Ever and After The Song Was Done Everyone in The Delaware Valley Knew That The Flyers Were Not Going To Lose That Day No Way Go Flyers!

I remember it well. I was 14. Every time I hear it....and I am Canadian.....I just think how great America is and how we are blessed to have that wonderful country as our neighbor and friend. Irving Berlin wrote that song with Kate Smith in mind and was he on the mark. .

Yeah but still this song should have never been played. it's not PC bullshit. She should have been banned decades ago if that's the case. I'm a conservative who voted for Trump because he has good economic policies. Other than that his character is fucking shit. It infuriates me that Christians boast about him I thought they were just going to vote for him and remain quiet but no they defend this motherfucker to death. Conservatives specifically southern white people shouldn't put up with racist bulshit either we should have been in favor of removing those piece of shit Confederate statues and that fucking Confederate loser flag. Now don't get me wrong sucker I hate the left. There are only two genders I hate that people get offended over comedy but this bitch Kate Smith sing some pretty fucked up stuff. I'm mad that people decide to just do it now

Beautiful, and very stirring. And if you're an American, or Flyer fan, or even a Bruins fan, and you see this, and you don't get a lump in your throat and a tear in your eye, you're somebody I don't want to know.
