Anyone can improve their looks/hair/guitar skill: Researching hair/makeup/clothes, weight management, and guitar training: Passion, Keep-Trying (persistence), Efficient learning, and time (pKET).

@@antera77 C'mon man don't get all preachy. It was posted tongue in cheek. I have no doubt Doug as worked very hard and deserves everything he's gotten. But you know as well as I do there are some butt ugly musicians out there who aren't as blessed as Doug. I'm not mad about it, just stating facts. Rock on.
@antera779 ай бұрын
"I have no doubt Doug as worked very hard...but...some butt ugly musicians...aren't as blessed as Doug." Actually your sentiment is what I was addressing: Many believe you need to be 'blessed" to have great looks/hair/guitar skill. Falsely believing even if they research how to do hair/makeup/clothes, and how to manage weight with sustainable diet and exercise, that it's hopeless. Believing they just 'don't have it' when much more likely it's a matter not finding the right guitar learning path that maximizes pKET. So they don't try. This makes them more likely to fall into jealousy and resentment. You seem to have some of it right: Recognizing Doug has 'worked hard." But everyone can improve, even if they don't reach exactly Doug's levels. Seeking out the right hair/makeup/clothes, weight management, and guitar training. " don't get all preachy..." My comment was meant to encourage. Many are far more capable of reaching their goals, than they think.

I would think this little club wouldn't care if you used your FX3. Rx100 still did a decent job.
@antera7710 ай бұрын
"Rx100 still did a decent job" Yes, the RX100vii 1.0" sensor and optical continous zoom give much better live performance video, than even the latest iPhone 15 Pro. Still, I love the FX3's 4k60 capability, no overheat worries, and the full-frame image sensor drives a virtuous cycle : better low-light, better autofocus and autoexposure, effectively increasing resolution. Here's an example at the same venue kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6nPoXycZchll6s

Any guitar palyer can bring insight @6:17 how he does that artificial harmonics?
@antera779 ай бұрын
That's just an intense flanger, most likely pedal-actuated. No "harmonics", in the damped-harmonic fretting sense. GAHHH I've been planning guitar instruction videos for years. You might have just inspired me to throw the switch
@antera779 ай бұрын
The singer touching the fretboard at 6:17, doesn't appear to have any effect on the sound i.e., is not damping a harmonic. Actually it's more likely a Leslie effect or wah wah, than a flanger The original studio recording additionally uses backwards echo -- not possible for live performance, although I would imagine there are simulations. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wanton_Song#Recording
