I wrote the bio for his on IMDb. I got his thing started on Wikipedia. I have another bio on him that I'm trying to get published. This guy was a legend. Yet most of the world has no idea who he is because he died so young. He deserves a legacy.

@@MJDAS2001 I thought "Good. It's about time Doug got his due. He's been in obscuritty for so long." I was happy when the book and finally the movie came out. But I knew of Doug before that. After I saw ANIMAL HOUSE, there was a featurette that told some of Doug's story. He was the founding father of THE NATIONAL LAMPOON. And one of the biggest contributors. He brought it all together. He co-wrote ANIMAL HOUSE. I felt injustice over the fact that he didn't have the reputation he deserved.

I would easily bet that Doug was the kind of person who seemed like he was on drugs even if he wasn't on drugs. Though, that's not to say that he wasn't on drugs 24/7 😂 ~ I'm so grateful this exists on the internet! Thank you, UCLACommStudies

The guy had a childlike genius. Its amazing to see those two forces at work. The only downside being the reality that the rest of the world is moving in.

I only hope a friend of mine has such an epic quote at my funeral as Doug did when Harold Ramis said Doug probably fell off the cliff looking for a place to jump. RIP Doug and Harold. Legends

At 26:33 Doug repeats the rumor that Jerry Mathers (TV's Beaver Cleaver) died in Viet Nam. Shelley Winters said the same thing on Johnny Carson's "Tonight Show." It's not true.

DaftSwank yeah! I thought Will Forte was not trying and was just talking like he normally does, but the way the real Doug Kenney actually talked wasn't far off from that.

The irony of him in a scene involving a young Lorne Micheals, tho, and Cris Kattan as pre-David-Letterman Paul Schaffer...so meta. Plus, I thought Chevy Chase was played by Jason Sudakis before I realized it was Joel McHale.

+Tor Hershman instead of "Groovy baby" you'd do "Gravy Boobie," oh yeah...Farm Out. "See Dick run, run Dick run." Kenny was sooooooooooooooooo wrong about 'masturbating preventing acne,' I DO know that! Doug Kenney falls prey to incorrect Urban Legends (The Beaver). I do oft times say "I'm not crazy, I'm THE craziest for to be deliberately sane IS the nuttiest level to be on." NL covers were/are truly fine art. OH, I really dug "Son Of God Comics." Oh my goodness gracious, THANK YOU, Mr. Kenney [No, I shall not explain]. I absolutely enjoyed this and, as the previous post suggests, had a bit 'O a(n) epiphany via Ghost Kenney. UCLA, ya done good, thanks. Oh, BTW methinks the finest way to sum Kenney & his relationship to human CULTure isssssssssssssssssssssssssssss......you can watch, @ KZbin, Tom Snyder's interview with Charles Manson but NOT Snyder's yammering with Doug Kenney. Thank again.

Doug had access to the finest weed. Unfortunately he also had access to the finest cocaine and it killed him. Him and Chevy were trying to clean up their act in 1980 in Hawaii and they both relapsed. Cocaine is a helluva drug. Made him walk off the cliff to his death. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭. So sad.:(

And to think this guy killed himself 8 years later because "Caddyshack" was panned by most film critics. Today, it's a comedy classic! This UCLA appearance, however, is cringe-worthy and it's lucky for him not too many people showed up to see it.

+Frank Pontone - Actually the cause was undetermined, most believe that it was an accident. In the documentary "Drunk, Stoned, Brilliant, Dead" they talked to those who knew him better than most (Chevy Chase, John Landis) and both believed that he wasn't suicidal.

How, Dark Star 6909, does your reply relate in any shape, way, manner, form, theory or extrapolation of theory to my, worth bettin' on, speculation that Frank Pontone IS A CHRISTIAN but not a nice one? I think nice Christians, my definition of "Nice," are just wonderful.
