the reason the steering feels a little "vague" is because the e36s had progressive steering racks, while the z3 has a linear steering rack, and the z3 one fits in e36s so its a very common upgrade to do
@creakid4 күн бұрын
U.S. M3 also has this progressive rack for 1995 only. It enlarges the turning radius as if making clearance for fat tires. Back in the old days, Audi 4000/Coupe did the opposite for the quicker rack. LOL Anyway, E46's rack would do, not just non-M Z3's.

Its a 30 year old car, these were proper beemers though, spanked the turbo charged stuff in Japan and won 2 JTCC titles against the GT-R, Supra and the NSX, which promptly forced the Japanese to force them out, especially as they had by this point been embarrassed by Team Lark and the McLaren F1 driven by Ralph Schumacher winning all but 1 race and then BMW returning to dominate with another M3. Thats why the JGTC was Japanese manufacturer only unlike DTM and the rest in Europe which welcomed all comers. Surprisingly it didnt compete in the DTM Championship. It did compete in the American Le Mans championship and won multiple titles over there too.

This is one of my dream BMWs. I've been waiting so long for Doug to review one of these

From the original E30 all the way to the current G80, every M3 is simply beautiful.

Were I a rich man, I'd paint my Forte in that color. BRG is one of my fave vehicle colors. Never been big into BMWs and had no idea this bugger existed. With the exception of the spoiler, it looks fantastic.

I JUST saw a green E36 M3 today in Northport, Florida on 41. I had never seen a British Racing green E36. I had no idea it was that rare.
@vegaser1c7 күн бұрын
@@jgreenjeans it was probably Boston Green… which is a more common US E36 M3 color

I've been in a pretty rare e36. Before the engine was available to import, there was an e36 3 series with all the parts of an M3, but not the engine. Was a great car.

In Europe they also sold diesels with the ''M'' package. A neighbour had a company car 318 tds saloon with that package back when they were new.

Such an underrated model. Fell in love with BMW after the e36 and still in love since then

Yeah, he's the BMW knowledge king. Although this is Doug's channel, not cars&bids, so people might throw a fit....

Doug asked him too but he had an erection for over 8 hours so he had to go to a doctor.

You just pass everyone before changing lanes. No need for large external mirrors. Love this era of BMW. Best driving cars without all the issues.

5:59 "You also have a special plaque on the door sill as you can see. When you open the door it's there; you can't see it when the car's moving, but..." Oh, sure you can! *You just have to open your door while you're driving!* 😂

It's actually well thought, you have one outside as you approach the car. Another when you climb inside, as a reminder. And the last one on the dash, so you can stare at it while inside.

Awesome video Doug. On the topic of steering- a good upgrade for the E36 is a Z3 steering rack. You get a tighter turning ratio, and it’s a direct bolt it upgrade. 🤙

The E36 m3 LTW featured many of the same modifications. The wheels are known as "LTWs" colloquially and they share the same wing, and aluminum skinned doors. the GT is basically the Euro LTW?

Dont get me wrong. We enjoy the super cars, and all the brand new luxury SUVs etc... But we all LOVE when you review older, more regular cars that are obtainable for the normal person. STILL WAITING ON THE 7TH GEN MONTE CARLO SS REVIEW. OR ANY OF THE LS4 CARS ACTUALLY.

Even tho the 335i n54 e93 hard top aint rare, but out of all bmws I have ever driven or modified, it's the most fun hands down. I sold mine and had to buy another one 5 years after. Red interior. Tuned. Parts upgraded. Track hawks hate me.
