You could contact the tire manufacturer and request warranty or have the dealership contact them. Most people don’t do this because it’s a hassle
@sigmahyperion955
@sigmahyperion955 Сағат бұрын
Any decent tire shop should do this for you and automatically reduce the cost of your replacement tire by the pro-rated value of the old one as a replacement claim. No need for the customer to do anything and, in general, customers (in lieu of dealers/distributors) are discouraged from initiating these claims themselves as they are a bit onerous for both parties to handle after-the-fact. The only potential hang-up here is that as an OE tire, it has no road hazard warranty. So a dealer would want to make certain there was no indication of an outside cause to the blow-out before preemptively extending warranty coverage.

I can *Kinda* relate to this. I have a 23 Tundra, and I was driving late at night, zoned out a bit seeing as I have made this drive thousands of times... and I hit a small thing of road debris, and my back rear passenger Falken Wildpeak tire basicaslly exploded. It is a process to get it changed like he mentioned, but I was very happy to see that full size spare Michelin tire under the truck. I'm ready to get new tires, but like Doug said, it's stupid to buy new tires so early. I'm getting rid of the Wild Peak for sure though.

The tire most likely blew out because you mentioned that you keep them at a low tire pressure the entire time you're in Nantucket and drive that way. With it being so heavy and squishing the tires it heats up the sidewall from all of the flex at higher than off road speeds. I understand why you would do that, I actually do it all the time, but my car is very light. It probably should have lasted longer though.

Toyota doesn't want the floor mats getting under the accelerator pedal and cause "unintentionally acceleration"! I've had a flat tire in that same area lol. I did DC to San Diego and immediately back in my Silverado 3500 pulling a enclosed car trailer with a friend's MazdaSpeed 3 and his stuff on the way out and a RX8 on the way back. I went 40 to US-95 down to I-10 then I-10 to Scottsdale to get the RX8. Up I-17 to I-40, back up I-81, I-66, I-495, I-95 to home. I took my time on the way out because my friend was with me, I didn't let him drive lol, so we stopped to see some stuff. Overall I did the round trip in 9 days.
