Always keep coming back to a G-shock they are built to really last, definitely worth the money. I also like smartwatches but they just don't last as long probably 3-4 years then they breakdown. My g-shocks even more than a decade still works as well as the day I bought them. Casio really makes them incredibly well

If you like a smartwatch that lasts. Check out the Gsteel BT with the steel band. For the price tag. It's a awesome and surprisingly tough little device. And it's full solar. So I haven't had to do maintenance or change a battery in the last 8 plus years. I wear it to work as well. I'm a tradesmen and it takes a beating. Been one of the best and toughest watches I've had.

Hey, thanks for the video, it's very informative! But I still have a question: Can I start and stop a recording manually for example with the stopwatch? So can I record a route (with the help of phone's GPS) on my bicycle with handling only the watch, while the connected phone is in my pocket?

Great review. I have a question...does the watch have a "vibrate" feature to alert to notifications? My current watch (not G-Shock) only beeps and I can't silence it unless I disconnect bluetooth AND it won't vibrate. This is necessary for me as I am constantly in meetings and times when a beeping watch is distracting. The watch I have is simple and perfect for me with the features and this GBA-900 seems perfect as well but I really want it to vibrate for notifications.

Thanks Vince, these are always in and out of stock, keep an eye out, sometimes they free up with people returning things from the holidays. The Rangeman I primarily use for camping. Its a great big strong watch with great outdoor functionality.

1. Yes, in the Lifelong section, you can toggle between steps, distance, and calories burned. 2. Unfortunately can't be configured that way, its either on or off. Interestingly, I have always kept mine on. 3. Battery Life should be around 2 years.

To me the wings make it more comfortable to wear, movement and pressure wouldn’t compromise the back, these watches are made to take virtually any beating you throw at it.

I'm curious about the countdown timer. I l know you can set it for different intervals. However, I was wondering if you can save different timers. For instance can I save a timer for 30 seconds, and another for 3mins? How easy is it to switch between the two on the go?

I'm thinking about getting a GBA 900 but I'm not really crazy about the resin band. Are there options through Casio, or third party. I lean toward NATO style straps and need something closer to 8.5 inches than 8.0 inches.

You can always remove the straps, a NATO will be a REALLY tight fit

I heard that G-Shock watches have a great rep, but haven't really heard the reasoning behind that. I'm tired of carrying and charging multiple devices and this puts everything in the watch, I think. I'm good as long as I don't need the phone on me to hike or workout.

Yes, but it's very limited. I get a different icon for tasks and calendar events vs "notifications" but seem to get a "mail" icon whether it's mail, sms or message from an app. Once you clean up your apps from spouting junk normally it's much cleaner.

Thanks for watching Rajp. I would say it does depend on a number of factors. Phone, bluetooth signal, interference, walls, etc. I could get around on the main floor of my house and it stays connected.

Thank you. Happy it helps. With the Bluetooth, long press the bottom right button usually connects when in the app. This one uses the Casio Move app

About the GBA-900, I bought one in June 2022 and I discovered that it is bugged to sum the distance in SPLIT Mode. I had contacted CASIO that try to tell me that it's because of my SmartPhone. Finally they have recognized the bug, but are not able to provide a schedule and how to fix it. So it's my first and last CASIO G-SHOCK. I loved their calculators. But now I'm really disappointed.

It updates every time you connect to the app. But not every step would register to the phone until you connect, otherwise you’d have battery life issues.

Its a lower cost watch with basic fitness functions. They could only fit so much tech in a small package that would also withstand the shock and water resistance. They have the G-Squad series which now features the heart rates along with vibrate and notifications. Why is it so difficult for Casio to make a normal timer with more than 60 min, or even multiple timers, a date that you can change the order of day and month (d-m or m-d), make notifications with vibration, etc. I mean, those are very simple features for 2022 after all these years of smartwatches. I would like very much to buy a casio, but without the features I mentioned I would never buy one. You can get a cheaper smartwatch with many more features than Casio. Style or battery life over features, I don't understand this marketing policy.

All great points. It's more of the budget watch, but I never understood why the 60 minutes vs 24 hours. I wish they would make certain features standard across the board.

Multiple timers is my no. 1 wanted feature on any Casio watch. That and a proper alarm that can be configured for spec. days per week and that doesn't turn itself off after only ten beeps. For the date thing you ask about, there are a few that have it, like the ae1300-wh. Some recent watches like gw-5000u and gw-m5610u have option for dd/mm or mm/dd.
