He cared about his brother. He hate him, but he would never kill his own brother like that. i love how Doughboy plan his revenge for his brother Ricky. Doughboy was killed by unknown killer 2 weeks later at the end of the film. I love this movie. ❤ This movie made 90s.

I can't even watch this movie anymore. I hate its tragic ending. It seems as if Doughboy was jealous of his brother. I felt the mom may have showed more favoritism towards Morris Chestnut's character because she felt he was going to make something out of himself. It's sad either way. Ricky did not deserve to be bullied by Doughboy. Doughboy really wanted to feel loved and valued by his mother. Because I don't want to encourage sibling rivalry, I try to make sure both of my children know that I love them both equally no matter what.

I served in the US Army back around the time this movie was made. I served alongside many black soldiers and still consider many of them among the best men and women I have ever known. They certainly influenced my life in a positive way. It saddens me to think that there may have been many other black kids who stayed away from military solely because of this scene.
