I love the fact that you don't try to make everything look perfect, because nothing or nobody is perfect even 50 percent of the time. You're just normal, whatever normal is, like the rest of us trying to get through the day with as little hassle and looking after your family as possible. Well when I say normal you're doing it on a different scale than the most of us lol. Best wishes from Northern Ireland.

The affirmations you use at the end of the video bring tears to my eyes each and every time. I grew up in a broken family, and cannot recall my parents saying "I love you" or "good job" and never "I'm proud of you" so when you say these things with such honest intentions behind it, it is amazing. Can’t help but be impressed with how organised, efficient and totally clever you are in looking after your family and staying so ahead of the game. Most people would be totally frazzled just thinking about it, me being one. It would make your task possibly too long and slow, but in Australia we are encouraged to use a 3 bin system - one for green waste/food/compostables, a second one for recyclables and a third one for other general waste. The local Council empties all 3. Supermarkets no longer supply one use plastic bags. We are regularly reminded in one way or another about the environmental impact of plastics. This change was a bit of a shock and total pain at the time I must admit, (I am in my later years) but it got easier with time and I realise the importance for future generations.

She has been doing it since she was 13 and is now 26, it was a miracle for her. Now I had IBS, but during an allergy testing session we found I have a large amount of food sensitivities. I eliminated them all for 1 month and had no bouts. Now I know what foods really affect it and those that I can have on occasion. Might be ideas for your 2 kiddos
@jackschitt77832 жыл бұрын
Suggestion I think would help with counter space and your meal tasks. I get this from what my Grandmother figured out. She was a mother of 13: You can get more counter space by putting easy-access storage space, shelves and places to hang things like pots, pans, and utensils above the counters like above the counter between you and the camera. Another thing she did that gave her a ton of more counter and storage space was she had my Grandfather put molding in on the backsplash all around the back of the counters she had which gave her a ton of space to put spices, condiments, containers including easy-access snack storage. It's really convenient and creates more space than it takes up putting a little shelf on the backsplash of a counter. Having a bigger kitchen isn't always better when we have more space we have to travel over to get to things. It's faster and more convenient to have everything in reach from standing in one place or only having to take a few steps. Put things in quick reach above your head. You could put your fruit bowls in metal racks like your bread rack so they can be gotten to from either side, too.

Alicia if you have a meat masher it works really well to mash eggs and other things as well. I sneak very finely chopped celery, sweet onion, sweet pepper and a carrot into my egg salad. So I open them properly and wash them and reuse them to store fruits veggies even in the fridge so it gets air around them, or cut them to use as scrubbers for the bathroom, kitchen.

Don't most people reuse the eggs after Easter and do this? At least most people I know do. Is it more of a region thing? We always did egg salad and deviled eggs. Genuinely curious and did not know it was more unique.

I guess we never really did growing up in my house. I can only remember dying eggs once or twice.
@PurdueAlum012 жыл бұрын
No we hid and found our dyed eggs a billion times over so they weren't in fridge and usually were worn and cracked after so many times hidden, we had to retire them. Mom disliked plastic especially single use plastic so I thought everyone hid real eggs like we did. Just have to keep count and find them all.
@moonfighter48722 жыл бұрын
@@PurdueAlum01 Interesting. I mean, we hid our dyed eggs too but didn't hide them over and over lol. So we ate them afterwards as there's usually a lot. I guess to me it's just wasteful otherwise unless you are hiding them continuously where they would become gross like that lol. I want to find out what's more the norm as it's actually interesting.
@PurdueAlum012 жыл бұрын
@@moonfighter4872 Well and we had max 4 kids so we dyed more like 2 dozen not ten dozen...but yep we would hide them all day, sometimes for several days it was a lot of fun. The Easter Bunny would do the first round then kids or parents after that, both indoors and out. The dyed eggs held up well with all that but many eventually got cracked. We learned under the couch cushions they even did okay just make sure u found them all or in a few days Mom would not be so happy hunting down a smushed stinker. Mom kept a clean house so they were generally all easy to find you just had to keep count of how many were hidden. Mmm, egg salad does look good though, might have to make some for lunch. I use a Dash egg cooker, perfect and peelable every time (but only if u need 6 or fewer eggs!).

Have you tried a dairy free diet for the boys? A high percentage of African-Americans have a dairy intolerance. My husband didn’t even know that’s what really was wrong with him until we had my son and I got to the bottom of it for my son, then he eliminated dairy and all of his IBS symptoms are gone! Just thought I would mention it. We do a dairy free, gluten free diet for most of the family.

Alicia, hi I'm a senior who spent time in foster care. I went out on my own at just turned 16. No high school diploma (got that in my early 40's) & I was lucky in that I was hired as an assistant in the pharmacy because my landlord sent me. You're in demand, so I can't expect you to remember my foster care, broken family through divorce (scandalous!).blah blah blah. In short🥰❤️ I look for your videos because you're an inspiration & I can only marvel at your being happy in life, can do attitude. Always upbeat, you help lift so many up, to be better people. From the flash photos of the siblings, I can see they need time. I'm sure they're enduring trauma & may feel overwhelmed by such a large group! Since I know you're more than busy going that extra distance, I will patiently wait until the next video for news regarding these children. Thank you for the kind, decent person you are & sharing with us, your journey! 🙏❤️🙏🌹🙏🇨🇦

I use a potato masher for my hard boiled eggs when I make egg salad. I am glad you all are resting this week. It's good to have down time. I use cinnamon at the door way of my patio doors to keep the ants out. It works great. Your roaster is called O-ster.

I love watching your videos so much, it really helps my get my mind off life & makes me feel like i’m not alone. Just a quick tip for you Alicia! Cracking the eggs on the table before cracking them in the bowl reduces the chance of getting any shells in, you should give it a try! 💗

I usually sit and dice up every single egg.. and now I see you use a whisk, and my mind is blown! So much easier, it’s unbelievable. Thank you!

We used onion bags as shower kits for when we went camping! It held all of our shower supplies and let them dry quickly !

You can use the onion bags for pool stuff. Keep pool toys, goggles, etc in them.
