Whats amazing to me is that the A-26 served into the late 60’s with the USAF in Vietnam, along with the C-47! Absolutely astounding! 😎😎😎

It's hard to believe this stunning aircraft is 80 years old. Congratulations to all who made this historic flight possible.

@@fleuger99 The Mossie looks good and o sounds great. I have a slight preference to the Merlins over radials.

@@lonzo61 I totally agree. I bought a DVD called Reunion of Giants when the Canadian Lancaster flew to England and performed several flights with the RAF Lancaster. Those two bombers flying together with 8 Merlins is absolute music. :)

Chevrolet built 2100hp R-2800-83 engines? great big air cooled radial engines...wow, what a sound.
@88SC3 ай бұрын
Chevrolet built several models of the R-2800 under contract, including some of the newer C-Series models. Later they built R-3350s for Wright; the engines installed on Skyraiders was one example.

Ford built more R-2800s than Chevy and P&W combined.
@88SC3 ай бұрын
@@zachhering5809 I checked; you can throw Nash’s 18,000 in there and Ford probably still comes out on top.

Beautiful plane. What/where is Wic?
@boatrat2 ай бұрын
"Wick", I'm pretty sure. Yeah. Airport at a little town on the East side of the North end of Scotland. Which doesn't sound like quite the right direction... But if you look at the map, that's basically the closest stop for the over-water flight to/from Iceland.

Erm…an American aircraft and an American crew, with an American flag, and you take offence?! Your comment is idiotic. If you’re offended, keep it to yourself, because nobody else needs to know, or even cares.
