i SO AGREE. I tried to explain things to my former country (Italy) and I am so proud to be Israeli. What has he said, other than what you’d described as a very realistic human response in those circumstances, has he said to think of him as not intellectual? Having visited the Holy Land myself, I can find no fault in what you’d described. And I was there during a time of, what amounts to stability, in that particular country. I ask this, because it appears you have a problem with his voiced support of Israel. Which I applaud and respect him for, as it shows far more about him, none of it undesirable. Also for which I cannot fathom, how any realistic person, with even a rudimentary understanding of the conflict in the Middle East, could be opposed to. Since you are critical of Douglas Murray’s statements in support of Israel, it’s reasonable to expect that you are at least somewhat familiar with the Middle East. Thus, also familiar with what happens to homosexuals over there, with the exception of Israel. But I digress. Can you please provide an example where he’s doing what you described?

I am 69 years old and British. I am, and have always been, very proud to be British. Douglas has just described, towards the end of this interview, from where that pride comes. His description of the patriotism and eagerness to serve of the younger generation of Israeli people was the same as that of the young people in Great Britain at the outset of World War Two and explains their subsequent feats in the march toward the defeat of Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan. Obviously, Douglas is far more eloquent than I and so I am grateful that he has helped me to crystallize and reinforce my joy in having been born in Great Britain. Please do not confuse patriotism with jingoism. They are not the same thing. Thank you, Winston and Douglas, for this interview.

i am 65 and british, same pride..i disagree with you at many fundamental levels....i believe the Bible is Gods word...10 commandments , i sure broke a few....Thou shall not kill, is not one i have broken to date. Someone will (enlighten me about the wars in the bible, i will listen) taking anyone's life cannot be sanctioned as i see it. What shocks me about Britain is that a lot of the Muslim related crimes (grooming gangs, assassinations) are covered up with respect to who the perpetrators are, and the ones who expose the truth are labeled “far right.” There seems to be a brand of leftist thinking that is even more pervasive and dominant than we have in the US. It is almost like looking into our future. If those things had happened here, they would have been exposed on mainstream media for what they are. Maybe 9/11 taught us a lesson? There is a serious issue in GB related to censorship and freedom of speech. People seem completely naive and complacent. I never thought I would rely on our Trump-supporting conservative demographic to preserve our democracy, and yet here we are. Many of them are ignorant bible-pounding rednecks. And yet here we are. GB on the other hand, might be a lost cause. BTW, my grandfather served in the Air Force in WW2 and met my grandmother in England, who was 100% English. Cheers

The parting sentiment on the Jewish people was incredibly… powerful. As I watch my country, the United States, fragment and both ethically and morally decay at an alarming rate, I look to Israel to be reminded of what a sense of community looks like… what we, for a period of time in history used to resemble, at least to a degree. I love Douglas Murray. I've read all his books and watch him on KZbin. I love his passion and I share his anger with our pathetic politicians and police. We used to have a police FORCE, now we have a police service, but who does it serve? I'm glad Douglas reminded us of the way the police behaved towards the women at the candle-light vigil for Sarah Everard. It seems to me that Britain is institutionally misogynistic. Women and girls are fair game, not only the victims of the grooming gangs and the women grieving for Sarah Everard but the young girls at the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester. We don't usually go around shaking our fists in the air or screaming like savages or issuing threats. The police back off from people who do behave like this, or as Douglas said, they stand there and take photographs as they did when he was being intimidated. Yes, indeed, man up!
