Love the rant about the ambiguity of rods and line weights these days.

Great rod. Very generous of you to include the sylk line with purchase of rod. However this can not be achieved due to your website still being under construction .

Hi Al & James, do you sell these rods at the shop? What's the price range? My first fly rod was a Cortland, one of those "just add water" kits. 8' 6" fiberglass #8 with a level line. That's what I learned to cast with. The action was I guess moderate to slow, rated for streamers / bass. Too bad it was so heavy and the click drag pawl broke on the reel, but it cast like a dream. My last rod, after a few lighter graphite blend rods was a Cortland "western action" that I gave up on using because I cant cast it. It's rated 6/7. I put a DT 7wt line on it as suggested by a shop owner I knew, he said if it's a Cortland go with the heavier designation. Maybe I should go heavier still, but I know what you mean about modern rods and matching lines. Thanks for the video and offer guys.
