I love it when I get to see a video starring a rare jewel of the fly fishing world like Diana "The Bag Lady" Bradley. That was one of the best shows I have ever seen Bob; right down to the music and the birds chirping outside Joe's shop. And I finally know where to waste my money on an old mans cane.

Thanks! It was definitely great getting to know Joe and I'm glad I can call him a friend. That cane really does have a history behind it. It just makes Joe's rods a little extra special knowing the lineage of it. I guarantee it won't feel like a waste once you have one of Joe's rods for your own haha.

I have a clunky old bamboo rod and have always wanted a quality bamboo. Maybe I'll have to save up for one of his. My wife is from Malad Idaho, you most likely drove past it on your way up. She has several relatives who live in the St Anthony area. If I could live any where I wanted it would be a bit further up the road in Ashton. And you finished up in my home town with another great day on the water!! Thanks for sharing!!!

If you're looking to get a bamboo rod from a master builder, Joe builds them as good as anybody at a really really competitive price (as these type of rods go). He'll be at the Wasatch Expo this coming spring and that'd be an awesome opportunity to cast his rods without needing to get up to St. Anthony. Though it sounds like you're through that area ab it anyway.

Good job. I subscribed. I like when Fishermen and Women talk about equipment, fly selection, and techniques. I also like beautiful waterfalls, and nature. Thanks, blessings and Respect.

Thanks for the kind words! I'm always striving to be better at it, but I like getting into the small details of fly fishing.

Thanks for sharing the video. Bamboo is in a class of its own. . For me there isn't anything better. I fell in love with Bamboo a little over 10 years ago. Love everything about it

Yeah! Once I was able to cast some ones built by some skilled makers they are hard to stop thinking about. Any particular models stand out in your collection?

Great video Bob. I was wondering if you ever pulled the trigger on the bamboo rod. Now I know. I'd love to see that someday in person. Good for you.

Hey, when I saw you testing the rods in the yard, I thought to my self , finally a man on a video who knows how to cast! Most of everyone I've been watching, even renown guides on videos just heave the flies with their shoulder. But with you, the action comes out of the wrist, elegantly and efficiently. 🤸 Congrats on this trip and the beautiful new rod
