Yes, I'm all about finding good deals. I think Chinese knives might have a bad reputation from junk made 20 years ago. Times have changed and today there are some manufacturers in China making good knives.

Like that the knife handle is clear/easily acquired, kydex sheath, choil behind the blade for choking up. Looks like a worker!

👍👍👍 .. nice 😊. If it does the job, is durable and affordable, then why not? 'Chinese'? Many of us do not have cash to throw around for 'bespoke', 'home-grown' blades and such, after taking care of the Family and must take what we can afford. Their Website Presentation is impressive. There was a time (I think 20 years ago) when basically every Chinese knife I encountered was junk. The metal was too soft on most and they came pretty blunt. If I sharpened them at a more acute angle, the edge folded over upon use. But IMHO they've been getting steadily better. Yes I'd say there still are Chinese manufacturers that sell junk. However, there are good knives, too. I only have one model of the Shanzu "Vesta" but mine is good.

The same thought crossed my mind, but I'm giving Doug the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps it is a worthwhile buy .. for those who cannot afford the much more expensive 'home-grown' and other imported blades. Some of us are not 'financially advantaged' and must think carefully before putting out cash for our hobbies and such .. and only then after taking care of the family, etc.

Thanks for the feed back. This knife (Vesta by Shanzu) isn't junk IMHO. I'd say D2 is a good steel for knives if it's heat treated correctly, etc. I only have one example of this knife model, but mine is good. I like doing gear reviews, and I believe a lot of people like watching them. If you don't, that's fine. I post other kinds of videos here like camping trips, bushcraft and survival skills, and I report on accidents and fatalities in the woods, etc. But I get mostly good comments on the gear reviews. Also they get almost all thumbs up. For example, right now this video is 82 thumbs up and one thumbs down. KZbin is now concealing the thumbs down, but can see it on the channel analytics. I would have rather that they left the thumbs down visible to everyone, but they didn't ask me. I think it's good for feedback, personally.
