@@DougShoeBushcraft about how when it gets to a certain temperature how not to lay on the cold surface without any blankets etc. because the groundWould suck the heat right out of your body, because I live in Florida and the coldest it gets is like 35°C in the town and country woods in Tampa, kind of used to that kind of weather down here, but it does affect me though wake up paralyze feet arms legs everything so I grab a tarp from Walmart it helps a lot the ground doesn’t suck the heat out of my body anymore also. you are risking your life to show people what real homeless people go through in life on a daily basis with no permanent shelter and that really eases my pain mentally emotionally my brother🫀

I agree with you, I would rather have a full flat grind. I cut meat for 15 years and every survival knife I favor has a full or 3/4 flat. I prefer the full flat though. And at least a 6 inch blade. I carry pocket knives with a 4 inch blade. But in all the years of cutting meat I used a 6 inch blade and am most comfortable with them.

I don't have any knives like that to recommend. Sorry. There was a period of time that I carried a folding knife with a pocket clip every day. But that was many years ago. Also during that time it was inexpensive pocket knives. The kind of work I was doing made them get worn out or damaged quickly, so I didn't want to spend a lot. These days my EDC is a Swiss Army Knife (or similar pocket knife) and a fixed blade.

I bought one of the Ozark machetes with the fire, starter, feral rod. Do you have to scratch all of the black off of that to make it work to produce sparks

If your Ozark trail fire starter (that came with their machete) is the same as mine, then it is not only a ferro rod. At first glance it looks like a fat ferro rod since it is cylindrical. However, it is actually a magnesium block with a thin (skinny) ferro rod attached. You scrape magnesium shavings into your tinder. Then you throw sparks from the ferro rod onto the magnesium shavings. They burn very hot so starting a fire is a lot easier with them. Yes, you do have to remove the black protective coating from the ferro rod part of the fire starter. I filmed a survival challenge video using that Ozark Trail machete and fire starter as my gear.
