Homemade Chile Roaster and Review | You can build this on your own!

Here is my homemade worlds ugliest chile roaster, but you know what? It works great, you can build one to with basic tools and know-how. Its not hard. I do a Chile roaster review and show you that you can build this on your own.
I've visited New Mexico many times and in Hatch they have an annual Chile festival and everyone all over the stat roasts hatch Chile. We love roasted chile, roasted salsa and I wanted to make my own scaled down version of a chile roaster for backyard use. Here is my homemade worlds ugliest chile roaster, no not me! The round thing I built! You can make one like this to, or even better because I was in a rush and just wanted something to roast quickly. If you take your time like I didn't, you can be roasting in no time! Cheers!

What coating did you use to prevent rust? I’m trying to look up food safe coatings to use on mine and can’t find anything

Can we design a small one that would roast a couple dozen chilis at a time by removing the racks from a gas grill and placing the rotating cage directly over the gas grill burner (could require temporary removal of lava rocks). What do you think?
