Have you ever thought of composing an original long piece with real structure and everything? I think you're ready based of youre variation and chord creativity skills.

Like yeah, down the line, but that also takes a lot of time, and I tend not to listen to long, thematic works. For now my long works are the 39 series, the variation études. They're still variations but they're also longer works with someeeeeee form of structure and whatnot. If composing was my main endeavour, and I could indeed pursue music in a more focused sense of actually learning theory, actually having my works performed, etc, then yeah. And also since my works aren't performed and not even really known anywhere else, it's easier to write short ideas which are fun, concise, and not too taxing to actually finish.

@bacn2semiofficial That would be great if I could actually then stick to that structure lol. Nah but I'm not opposed to the idea, and I'll come around to it eventually for sure. For now though, simpler pieces are the better thing for me to do. They fit better in my schedule, and it ensures more consistent content too.
